The hotel is located on the corner of 9th and V st at the edge of what is refered to as Little Ethiopia. The patterns and bright colors of this culture are appearing in the local decor, super-imposed on the classical architecture of 19th century DC. This will be continued with the surface treatment of the hotel where the geometric patterns and vibrant colors of Ethipioa will make up the skin covering the classical form common to the area. The form is influenced by a mix of the local and regional forms common to DC; the corbeled cornices of local homes and symetry of federal architecture, and high end detials of modern hotel design as seen in the George Hotel.
