B o c c e The Details

•••••••••••••••••••• Come play outside with us! The tournament will start promptly at 12 p.m., and lasts all afternoon. There will be food, drinks, prizes, and a Calcutta. Children are welcome; there will be activities for them including a photo booth, snow cone machine and moonwalk. A water bar will be generously provided by Minute Maid and a beer bar by Silver Eagle. Many thanks to Minute Maid & Silver Eagle for their donation! Please wear your bocce whites, or nice white shorts.

This ancient game-- whose modern adaptation most closely resembles bowling-- requires skill, strategy, and just a little luck. Teams of two will compete for prizes for first, second and third places. Play will be double elimination, with the exception of the playoff between the divisions, which shall be a single game championship. For more than 40 years, the mission of Chinquapin Prep has been to provide a high quality college preparatory education to able and motivated youth from low-income families in the Greater Houston area. Through its rigorous curriculum and an emphasis on community service and earning what one receives, Chinquapin aims to produce responsible, well-educated citizens who will become constructive leaders in the community.
