a linear space between two subway station. there have some little open space in the ground,an understree in basemen floor, subway is below.

Design project modle

there has many boundaries betweens MRT Zhongshan and Shuanlian station.First is people and activities,second is the boundary between underground and ground floor, last one is east side and west side are cut by linear space. Place the new program to make people and activities have more opportunities to interact. Use section relation and landscape idea to open the boundary between up and down, and connect two side of west and east side.

boundary A The site was cut by Taiwan railway before1988 when the train was on the ground.After that Taipei Metro system replace the railway.now is subway undergroud ,but still left the boundary tween west side and east side.

there has many boundaries in our life,space and city. if eliminate the boundaries there will have more opportunities to make space and activities more interesting.

The linear site now have an understree between ground and subway system. but the vertical connection just only some exits and elevators. There is no section relationship between up and down.

boundary C There have two main type of user in the site.one is consumer from other place.The other is local resident and elder.Generally,two kind of user have no interactions and relation. And the third user is commuter who also seldom interact with two kind of user.That is the boundary in user.

Analy the user in the site,the top five of user groups are student, worker,consuming person, housewife and elder (resident). And the mapping show the spaces they use in one day.

ab User and Vertical Space in underground space commute time , students and workers are the top users. on the ground in the morning and afternoon, local residents (housewife and elder), are most part of the user. in weekend,ground space is more used than basement compare with ordinary day. Conclusion 1. in commute time students and workers use underground alot. 2. local residents on weekdays use ground space more.(in addition to the bad weather) 3. on holidays the frequency ground floor is used is more obviously than basement because of commercial area on the ground attract many users. But the underground street still maintain passing of main function.

Improve: 1. eliminate the only function which is passing of understree 2. use section relationship to make more interesting space and let users have more opportunity to interact.

From the case of Gothic Collegite church in Astria I analysis the structure of the roof ,then using convert method and the concept of dancing to implement this work. Finding out the smallest repeating unit of the roof structure and I try to identify elements and hierarchical relationship.

Finally,according to the same relation, I design a different style of work.Linear and surface materials create abundant spaces with light and shadow. Inersection of the axis of two structures present a charming form.


Yuguang Island Seashore Yuguang Island is located in west coast of Taiwan, oyster and fishing are most part of local industries. This in this design case, I integrate local residents , tourists and oyster industry into a serial space near shore. Set the appropriate programs to different users and use paths to connect the activities and space here, therefore the area can become an interesting space for traveling, local residents’ interacting and nature museum of local industry. That also provide local residents and workers a media connect with visitor.

At the first ,I sketch some different paths in this site,and try to connect landscape and spaces. Then create view in these paths and try to sketch the space’s form.

population of Yuguang Island now is 500 to 600 people, according to Tainan city planning in future the population will end up to the balance about 2000 to 3000 people. I use this statistics do this design program.In the site ,north part of island I set a port area for visitors and residents,proving about 4000 travelers visiting in holiday and weekend.

The Section AA’ BB’ CC’ try to explain relation of short axis from sea to smaill hill. And Seciont EE’show the connection with all spaces in long axis in this design.

This collage of perspective above express about how people feel in the space in this case. I make each space have interesting connection with each other. When users passing here,they can experience abundant perception.

Neighbor Housing Year : 2011 Level : fourth grade Duration : 5 weeks

in common congregate housing in Taipei, residents have no good interaction with eachothers,even to realize or have good relationship with neighborhood. I use the solution of architect ,improving space type from tradiotional dwelling unit,and set appropriate open spaces in this congregate housing.


Concept a. improve the cold relationship in Taipei’s congregate housing (apartment). b. create vertical green spaces in congregate housing. method a. put the public space,library community center of WanMei village into congreagat housing. The site is in WanMei Village, area is 0.7km2 ,population is 7252 people and density is 10,292 people / km2 .Compare with the area nearby, WanMei village’s population is higher, but public facilities here are clearly insufficient. Therefore, l put community ,public spaces in this housing design.

b. I separate the core to creat a corridor, then put open space in front of each dwelling unit which make this corridor not only for passing but make people stop and have some activities here.

c. Put more green open spaces for internal residents in dwelling unit, between dwelling unit and in the evry floor. Use entresol and balcony to enhance the section realationship of the green open space in each dwelling unit.The green park every floors with the corridor provide nice quality for neighbors to communicate.

In this housing each floor we have a number of small parks children can play here adults can drink coffee and exercise here we greet to each other on the balcony chat with neighbors on the green corridor every one wear smiling eveyday ......
