Asalaamu Alaikum Dear Parents, Welcome to another edition of myDeen Magazine. This month’s theme will discuss the Angels of Allah . The “Unseen” world where both the Angels and the Jinns are can be a tough concept for kids to understand. Part of the 6 Pillars of Imaan is to believe in Allah’s Angels who were created before the human race. Angels are known as the perfect creation of Allah since they constantly obey all of His commands. They all have different roles, such as preserving the law of nature, or protecting human beings from harm during the night. In this edition, we reduced the amount of lessons and included a lot more activities for your child to partake in. Enjoy!

Page 12-13: For the first time ever, we have included a poster for your kids to hang up! Tear the two pages out carefully and you can even laminate the poster before hanging it up. Page 19: This activity is meant to help your child understand how the two Angels on the shoulders record their deeds. Note: If you feel that your child is too old for this edition, please let us know. We can start mailing them the ages 5-7 edition of our magazines The next edition for January 2019 will be mailed out by Dec 24th, 2018 and the topic for that month will be “Mind Your Manners”. What Do Angels Look Like? No one knows how Angels look, but Islam teaches us that: Some Angels are very big, and some are small Angels are created from Light Angels are NOT boy or girl Angels have wings to help them fly Allah Knows Best about His Angels

Whenever we don’t know the details about something in Islam, we should say that “Allah Knows Best”.

Parent’s Zone How to Fight in Front of your Kids Honestly, haven't we all been there? At one time or another, most of us have found ourselves arguing with our partner in the presence of little ears. "It's impossible to agree all the time, and it’s wrong to pretend you do," says Tovah P. Klein, Ph.D., director of the Barnard Center for Toddler Development in New York City.

* The Damage of Fighting * Studies conducted jointly by Dr. Cummings's team and researchers at the University of Rochester found that parents' relationship with each other, and how they handle everyday conflicts, are critical for a child's well- being. When parents get along well, a child's sense of security deepens and he/she can confidently explore and learn about his/her world. "But frequent, unresolved fighting chips away at that confidence, triggering sadness, anxiety, and fear in children of all ages," Dr. Cummings explains.

* Controlling Your Fights * Even the experts of this study fight, because it’s inevitable. There are many resources online that can help you learn how to avoid arguments in front of your littles ones and how damaging it can be for them. Do your best to avoid arguing or fighting at all cost or save them for later when the kids are sleeping or not around.

* Resolving Around the Kids * Why is it that our kids see us fight, but they never see us resolve our arguments? If you fall into the trap of fighting in front of your kids, make sure you resolve the argument in front of them as well, even if you need to re-enact it at a later time with them there. This will do wonders for your kids! They will get the assurance that everything is back to normal as well learn different conflict resolution skills.

No One is Perfect Angels are the perfect creation of Allah . They never make mistakes. They never do anything bad and they always listen to Allah . Unlike Angels, we are Human Beings that make mistakes. Sometimes we do things that are bad that Allah doesn’t like. Allah never asked us to be perfect. Everyone makes mistakes, and Allah knows that. All He wants from us is to always ask Him for forgiveness. Prophet Muhammad

said, that Allah

said:

“…SO LONG AS YOU CALL UPON ME AND ASK OF ME, I SHALL FORGIVE YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE, AND I SHALL NOT MIND. IF YOUR SINS (MISTAKES) WERE TO REACH THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY AND YOU THEN ASK FORGIVENESS OF ME, I WOULD FORGIVE YOU.” {SUNAN

AT-TIRMIDHI}

Allah gave us the ability to choose. Are we going to do the right thing or wrong thing? Do your best to always be good so that Allah loves you more! And when you do something bad, then ask Allah for forgiveness.
