Welcome to Our Sale! 2016 marks the 14th Sugar Bars Legacy Sale in beautiful and historic Sheridan, Wyoming. A big thanks and a warm welcome is given to all our buyers, consigners, staff and friends that have made our sale possible. The sale offers a unique opportunity for people to own/sell a horse that is a decedent of the late Sugar Bars. We invite people to “become part of the legacy” and help preserve the Sugar Bars bloodline. As with tradition, the Sugar Bars Legacy Sale Association will host the sale this year; and it includes an exciting variety of outstanding Sugar Bars bred horses. Foals ?? Wildcard We are pleased to announce the Sugar Bars Legacy Sale “Wildcard.” The first horse sold in the sale will be a “wildcard.” The winning bidder for the “wildcard” lot will have his/her choice of any weanling in the sale. With no colt in the ring, the auctioneer will ask for bids on the “wildcard”. It will be auctioned in the same manner as every other foal in the sale, with the exception of the fact that, no one will know until the bidding is over and the winning bidder chooses his/her foal, which horse has actually been sold. That foal must be claimed immediately on winning the bid – and then will be removed from the catalog order. The sale will resume with the remainder of the consigned foals in catalog order.

Sugar To A Te is out of one of our best producing mares, Centennials Soloist. Sugars full brother topped the stallion weanling sale last year here at the Sugar Bars sale and that was not the first time for one of this mare’s colts, they are usually our best colts. His sire, Sierras Super Star has produced multiple World and Reserve World Champions in several breed registries. Sierra Te was an AQHA Leading Sire for many years, and is still a leading maternal sire of World Champions in the Stud Books. Sugar is so well bred he could be your next stallion as well as a winner in the show ring. Sugars dam Centennials Soloist has clearly been one of our most productive broodmares as well as her dam, Centennial Sissy who has been our lead mare for over twenty years. Between them, their colts have earned over 500 AQHA points in both Halter and Performance. If you are looking for a winner, here he is! You will be proud to own this colt!

“Rose” has been an outstanding filly since I purchased her at last year’s sale. I hate to part with her, but I am going in a different direction with my program and have decided to offer her for sale and let someone else have the opportunity to own this awesome filly! She’s good solid breeding, she was purchased from Gary and Ginger DeCock, a Granddaughter of Bar O Some Time, who came straight out of our –M breeding program. She is a beautiful filly, a stunning bay roan color, and she has an outstanding disposition rarely seen in a yearling. Rose has been used in our Equine Therapy program and has been exposed to lots of young people, so she would make a great 4-H or FFA prospect for someone to take on and show in the local shows and eventually rodeo on! Don’t miss the chance to buy this incredible mare; she’s bred to do most anything. Watch for her in the Youth and Open yearling filly futurities.

“Sunshine” is a dead broke, bomb proof mare that we have done pretty much everything with. She was used as a Cowboy Mounted Action Shooting horse before we purchased her at the SBLS about 10 years ago. She was purchased when I was very young for me to grow up and learn on. Since then she has been packed on, in the mountains, hunted off of, run in rodeos, given lessons, as well as been a key member of our Equine Therapy program that my mom and I do. She’s helped kids with special needs learn to love horses, taught many kids and adults how to ride and has been absolutely incredible for us and the people’s hearts she’s touched. She’s being offered for sale because we want someone else to have the chance to spend many years with this mare, she’s been outstanding for us and now we want to give someone else the chance to experience this once in a lifetime mare. Literally ANYONE can ride Sunshine, and she is safe, dependable, and extremely gentle. We have never bred her because she has been one of our premier riding horses, but she could be. You can catch her anywhere; there are absolutely NO holes in this mare. Don’t miss this great addition to your family!

His "jog" is so smooth you won't spill your coffee and it is his preferred gate. Navajo is 15.2 H and tough. He outlasts most horses and will go all day in rough, rocky country barefoot without taking a lame step. He gets ridden English often and loves to jump the cross country course. We have started him in the arena heading, heeling and breakaway roping. Any directions you choose to go, Navajo can take you there. He stands around 15 hands and has a lot of shape, with a big hip and hind leg. Rockstar spent the winter in Arizona where he was rode extensively on trails in the desert. This summer he has been to the Big Horn Mountains and the Black Hills. He handles rough country, crosses white water creeks, and tolerates unexpected wildlife without incident. Rockstar is also started roping and logging in the arena. He pulls well from the horn and shows a lot of natural cow sense and athletic ability.

I have used him in Nevada and Montana working on ranches and have used him at our ranch in Bates Creek since he was 4. He has done everything there is to do on the ranches and is easy to get along with. He has drug calves at the branding, doctored in the open, and covered a lot of country. I have had all of his feet wrapped up in a rope and he stood quietly until I could get him untangled. He is very correct and has never had soundness issues. He is quiet in the roping pen and gets along well with other horses. He goes where he is pointed and would make a nice ranch or trail horse. Watch for the video to be posted on the Sugar Bars facebook page. Please feel free to contact me with questions. 307-253-8748.

Truly Truckle Lotta Truckle Bita Charge Lotta Adventure Plenty Try Blue Advantage Jenny Valentine Poco Fire Chief Doc Quixoti Honey Sundalena Docs Kid Carla Billie Yuma Tah Yuma Tahs Holly Black Gold Baby This 10 year-old red roan is a gentle, kind gelding who should fit almost anyone who can sit in the saddle. Red is a super nice ranch or general use horse. He takes it easy if that’s what you want, but if you ask him for speed and agility he’ll be glad to oblige. He has nice, smooth gaits, can handle a cow in the pen or pasture, excellent for dragging calves and moving cattle, and can last all day. Red works off leg cues if you desire, neck reins, knows his leads, spins both directions on front or back, collects up or just lopes off – your choice. At about 15 HH he’s a nice size. Absolutely sound, good to trim and haul, hobble-broke, stands still when you get on, etc. We’ve never had him offer to buck. You are welcome to give him a try at our house before the sale, or at the preview. For videos go to www.YouTube.com and search for Olena Red Fire, or go to the BoxBarBoxRanch channel. All around, solid using horse that has been doing the chores on the ranch. Good minded, quiet and kind and is the same every time you need him whether rode every day or once a week. Really well put together 5-year-old that rides like a 10-year-old. He has a lot of sense and ability with no bad habits and sure enough solid. Drag calves, pasture doctor, super quiet with the chores asked of him. You will love him at the branding pen with his demeanor. Will be roping steers on him by sale time and feel that he will make a super nice heel horse. Here is a horse that is a family horse that can fill many needs and be enjoyed for years. Go one more or 20 miles, he has done it, in real ranch country doing the chores. Horeses like this one are hard to find. Videos and photos on our Facebook, Jon and Angel Craft. Bradley Lang

“Tie Dye” is a 4 yr old grade gelding that stands roughly 15 hands high. He has been used in all aspects of ranch work – branding, doctoring yearlings, calving, and has been rode many big circles. Tie Dye is extremely tough and is a go all day kind of horse. He is solid, and although he is a bit on the smaller side he is built to work with a nice thick conformation. He is smooth to ride, and is a good one to pick for one of those long days. Tie Dye is gentle and would get along with just about anyone. He is also great to rope on, and will put you where you need to be every time. He’s great to shoe, and is ready to go in any direction. Overall, Tie Dye is a good solid, stout; gelding that is willing to do whatever is asked of him. Please Watch Tie Dye’s Video https://youtu.be/lqOK7n_8MQw. Mataya Ward

Cinnamon is a cute 10 year old, 13.1 hand pony. This pony came to us broke and Mataya has camped on her all summer. She rides just as good bareback as she does with a saddle. She had ridden her out in flats checking cows, in the hills, down the trails, across the creeks, swimming in the dam. She will go all day and can keep up with the big horses. We have lots of pictures and video clips of her in action on our website at www.vlwranch.com. Or follow us on Facebook under VLW ranch.
