P.zza Mentana | Milan | Italy Sep. 2018 | Feb. 2019 Final project of Specializing Master -arch. V. Cozzi - dott. E. Bortolotti

The workshop aimed to redevelop a mediumsized square, located in the historic center of Milan. The requests: - remove car parking from the center of the square - provide seating for users - redesign the design of the square giving uniformity to the intervention - enhance the present monument - propose new paving for the entire area - redesign of the kiosk function - use vegetation as a design material. I developed the theme focusing on the revaluation of the monument, and on the redesign of the spaces inside the square. The characterizing element of the project is the presence of vegetation tanks that design defined but fluid spaces with specific functions. The vegetation is at the same time a structural and aesthetic element.

Localization in Milan the central position of the squares, in a town, is an important opportunity for the success of the project

Localization in “5VIE district 5VIE is a cultural stronghold in the heart of Milan. Represent a historical district rich in artistic heritage. A crossroad of workshops, crafts, galleries, shops and showrooms.

Minoprio | Como | Italy Sep. 2018 | Feb. 2019 Final project of Specializing Master C. Moranduzzo, M. Orsi, P. Valenza arch. A. Cazzani - dott. V. Piatti

The project aims to enhance and preserve the park of the villa. The garden currently contains various stylistic languages and an interesting and rich botanical collection that is not so much appreciated. Following an in-depth historical analysis we found elements of the historical value garden from which the project idea started. We have therefore redeveloped three areas of the park: the Italian garden in front of the villa, with the fountain, the English garden with the biolake, and the rose garden that currently consists of educational gardens at the service of the agricultural school. TASKS // I did the graphic elaboration of the survey and I contributed to the project idea; I realized the layout of panels and photomontages.

This part of the park was designed to accommodate a water garden; that recalls the presence of the swimming pool by planting ornamental aquatic species and shade shrubs. Due to the north-eastern orientation and the presence of the forest, this area of the garden remains in the shade. The puddle of water - or biolake - is an attractive ornamental element for this area of the garden.

Sormano | Como | Italy Feb. 2018 | Feb. 2019 Final project of Specializing Master C. Moranduzzo, M. Orsi, P. Valenza arch. D. Pandakovic - arch. A. Dal Sasso

The project is developed on a territorial scale. Its place of interest is the municipality of Sormano and its alpine landscape. The project involved the re-functioning of “Colma di Sormano”, as an identity site of the Lario area and the redevelopment of a piece of hiking trail for tourists. My team and me have identified 8 stages along the way, each characterized by an arboreal species and one or more attracting elements. The key to understand the whole journey is the game, a tool with which the visitor experiences the reality that surrounds him. I report below some of the stages and at the end the project of “Colma di Sormano”. TASKS // I participated in the idea of the project, I worked out the composition of the posters, and I developed all the photo-montage and maps.

Each stage is represented by a specific tree, whose meaning is to be found in Celtic and classical mythology. The birch is the tree of ascent between earth and sky, the beech is a symbol of wisdom, the maple indicates the correct way, the elm the grandeur of nature.

Berlin | German Mar. 2014 | July 2014 Laboratory 1 Master degree C. Moranduzzo, R. Moscarelli P. Galliani - A. Colombo - C. Gasparini

The methodological itinerary aims to highlight the relationships between morphology, typology, architectural language and to enhance the urban renewal procedures with reference to the transformations and the collective use of the contemporary city. The project faces the problems of identity and regeneration of an urban area characterized by significant existing structures, through targeted new functions and the introduction of new architectural organisms for residences, services and tertiary activities. The site of the projectis located in a former slaughterhouse. TASKS // Specifically I developed the plan of offices and temporary residence. I made the elevations in autocad and photoshop, at different scales (1:100; 1:50) and I designed the construction details in scale 1:20. I made the photo-montage and the 3d views.

FLEXIBLE BUILDING the outside inside

Florianopolis | Brazil Apr. 2015 | July 2015 Laboratory 2 Master degree -A. Ishida

The workshop, held in Brazil, aims to the creation of a flexible building, located in the center of Florianopolis. The building, indeed, has been designed to be adaptable to the ongoing changes which take place in the contemporary city. Flexibility has to be one of the main criteria for the public buildings. The building designed as a vertical promenade, represents an extension of the public space that insert itself in the building through a central, open staircase. The function of the building can be a school or an office space, depending on the needs. Indeed, the spaces are designed to be easily malleable. A greenhouse characterizes the interior space and it allows the absorption of the ray of sunlight in winter and through the windows it allows the natural ventilation in summer, according to the bioclimatic criteria.

The site of the project is a productive area abandoned, where it is expected the construction of new residential buildings.

site opportunity The workshop, composed by the integrated modules of “Architecture Technology”, “Structural Engineering “ and “Appraisal” aims to describe the cognitive, methodological, organizational and procedural tools in the different phases of the building process with reference to both new construction and existing buildings. Particular attention will be paid to the structural analysis since the earliest stages of the project, to the properties of materials and structural types, through the analysis of the current regulations, to building systems, and proper representation graphic design. TASKS // I worked on the design of the masterplan, the houses configuration, and the technical drawing of the construction details of the two technological systems. The technical sections were developed on a scale of 1:50 and 1:20, as well as the elevations.
