Course Guide

The Custom Home Furnishings Academy offers three courses as the core of the home study program. By viewing webinar and video lessons online, fabricating instructor-guided sample projects, and participating in a private forum with fellow students and instructors, students learn the basics of operating a professional drapery workroom and earn the Career Professional™ designation for window treatment fabrication. Students begin training the day they enroll, with online access to view lessons and post discussion questions any time day or night. In addition, each student receives training materials that include course handbooks, miscellaneous workroom supplies and a few helpful tools to complete required projects. The flexible approach allows students to learn at their own pace without leaving their home or workroom. Completion time varies based on skill level, experience, and effort. Students committing ten hours per week, generally complete the window treatment fabrication Career Professional™ program in 8-12 weeks. However, all students have access to the lessons and online support for twelve months to complete the program. After twelve months, a $50 reactivation fee applies. At any time within one year, there is NO FEE to transfer to the same hands-on course at the CHF Academy. Home study participants must be current Drapery & Design Professional Network Members to enroll.
