During the Covid-19 pandemic, Huntington Learning Center launched face-toface remote academic skills training and tutoring to complement its face-to-face in-center services. Huntington can do exam prep for the ACT, Stay Sharp Summer Programs – whatever the student needs – delivering 1-to-1 instruction remotely via Zoom, in center in Ellisville, or a combination of both.
Bayer’s Technical Discovery Center (TDC), located within the company’s innovation campus in Chesterfield, made a quick pivot this past spring to make face shields for health care workers on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic. At peak production, the TDC was producing up to 500 shields per day. In total, the TDC produced 22,100 face shields between early April and early May.
22,100 April through June, Tide Cleaners in St. Louis participated in the Tide Loads of Hope Program, providing free laundry and dry cleaning to front line responders and their immediate families – up to four 13-gallon bags of laundry per week.

Innsbrook homeowners and employees banded together in April to donate 1,170 pounds of non-perishable food and personal care items to the Agape Food Pantry in Warrenton. The resort’s contributions helped put much-needed food in the hands of the more than 1,300 food-insecure people Agape serves each month, nearly half of whom are children.

With their spring semester cut short and time on their hands, Ladue Horton Watkins High School students Emerson Barnett and Samantha Fischer organized a “26.2 Miles in 26 Hours Marathon” that raised almost $10,000 for Chamber member Saint Louis Crisis Nursery. In all, 20 high school girls and 15 parents and family members joined in. Every participant practiced social distancing as they ran on a treadmill or around their neighborhood. The marathon began at 6 p.m. on April 17 – and the last mile was completed at 7 p.m. on April 18. chesterfieldmochamber.com
