Brown grew up in Georgia where he taught school and read law at night. He was elected State Senator, Judge of the Superior Court, and Governor during the Civil War. Waleska Funk Heritage Center at Reinhardt University Georgia’s Official Frontier and Southeastern Indian Interpretive Center and a certified National Park Service Trail of Tears Interpretive Site.
