THE RATTLERS FINISH THE SERIES WITH THE FORESTERS Trevor Elswick pitched two shutout innings striking out two Santa Barbara, CA (June 27, 2010) – The SLO Rattlers had a hard series with the Santa Barbara Foresters. They had some close games, but the Rattlers were not able to pull off a win. The Rattlers pitched 18 shutout innings of the 24 innings in the series. The Rattlers are 8-13 overall and 2-11 in the CCL. Bobby Buckner (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) was hit by a pitch with two out in the top of the first inning. Scott Phillion (Central Michigan University) walked to put runners at first and second. The Rattlers were not able to score.

The Santa Barbara Foresters scored three runs off of two hits and two errors in the bottom of the second inning. Pitcher Kirk Fridrich (Kansas Wesleyan University) got his fourth start as a Rattler. He went three and a third innings, gave up four hits, seven runs, four earned runs, one walk, and one strikeout. Kirk Fridrich is 1-2 on the season. Davey Schultz (Cuesta College) singled up the middle with one out in the third inning. He went 1-for-4 in the game. The Foresters scored five runs off of three hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Mike Massari (University of Redlands) came in the bottom of the fourth inning and pitched the last two thirds of the inning. He gave up four hits, one earned run, two walks, and one strikeout. Roberts Vickers (College of the Canyons) walked with two out and then stole second base in the top of the fifth inning. The Rattlers got out of the bottom of the fifth inning by getting the Foresters to ground into a double play. Trevor Elswick (College of the Canyons) came in the bottom of the fifth inning to shut down the Foresters. He pitched two innings, gave up two hits, one walks, and two strikeouts.

Pitcher Todd Simko (Cuesta College) came in the seventh inning and pitched one inning. He gave up one hit, one walk, and two strikeouts. Zach Steele (Cuesta College) singled in the top of the eighth inning with two out. He went 1-for-3 in the game. Pitcher Marc Damon (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) pitched the eighth inning. He gave up one hit and struck out one. Bobby Bucker walked in the top of the ninth inning with one out.
