THE SLO RATTLERS END THE SEASON WITH A 7-4 WIN OVER THE CONEJO OAKS The Rattlers had twelve hits in the game Thousand Oaks, CA (August 1, 2010) â€“ The Rattlers were able to end the season on a two game winning streak against the Conejo Oaks. The Rattlers had a 5-0 lead in the top of the seventh inning. They extended their lead 7-1 in the eighth inning. The Conejo Oaks were shutout for six innings. The Rattlers allowed the Oaks to score four runs in the last three innings, but they kept the Oaks from winning. The SLO Rattlers won 7-4 over the Conejo Oaks. Jimmy Allen went 2-for-5 with two RBIs Matt Anderson went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs. Mitchell Prophet went 2-for-4 with a RBI and a run. Gabriel Loweree went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs. Joe Etcheverry went 1-for-5 with a double and a run. Kyle Wise went 1-for-3. Scott Phillion went 1-for-1 with a run. Davey Schultz went 1-for-3 with sacrifice hit, stolen base, and two RBIs. SLO Rattlers pitcher Richie Mirowski (Oklahoma Baptist University) got the start. He pitched six shutout innings, gave up two hits, and struck out five. He got the win for the Rattlers and is 3-2. Nigel Morton (Southwest Baptist) struck out swinging with one out, but reached first on an error in the fourth inning. Nigel Morton stole second and moved to third on an error with two out. Matt Anderson (Cuesta College) singled to right field to start off the fifth inning. Mitchell Prophet (Cuesta College) singled up the middle putting runners at first and third. Gabriel Loweree (Ave Maria University) singled through the left side scoring Matt Anderson. Kyle Wise (Southwest Baptist) grounded out moving Mitchell Prophet to third and Gabriel Loweree to second. Davey Schultz (Cuesta College) singled to left field scoring Mitchell Prophet and Gabriel Loweree. Davey Schultz stole second and moved to third on Jimmy Allenâ€™s (Rancho Buena Vista HS/Cal Poly SLO) groundout. The Rattlers took at 3-0 lead.
Matt Anderson singled to left field with two out in the sixth inning. Gabriel Loweree singled to left center to start off the seventh inning. Kyle Wise singled to center field. Scott Phillion (Central Michigan University) came in to pinch run for Kyle Wise. That was Kyle Wiseâ€™s last at bat as a baseball player. Davey Schultz had a sacrifice bunt moving the runners to second and third. Jimmy Allen singled through the right side scoring Gabriel Loweree and Scott Phillion. The Rattlers extended their lead to 5-0. Michael Nielebeck (Cuesta College) pitched the seventh inning for the Rattlers. He gave up two hits and one earned run. The Conejo Oaks scored one run off of two hits. The score was 5-1 Rattlers. Joe Etcheverry (Northern Illinois University) doubled down the left field line with one out in the eighth inning. Matt Anderson walked. Mitchell Prophet singled scoring Joe Etcheverry and putting runners at second and third. Gabriel Loweree reached on a fielderâ€™s choice scoring Matt Anderson. Scott Phillion singled through the right side putting runners at first and second. The Rattlers led 7-1. DJ Gunderson (Santa Barbara City College) pitched the eighth inning. He gave up two hits, one earned run, one walk, and three strikeouts. The Oaks scored one run off of two hits in the bottom of the eighth inning. The score was 7-2 Rattlers. Jimmy Allen singled through the right side to start off the top of the ninth inning. A double play did not help the Rattlers. The next batter, Robert Vickers, (College of the Canyons) reached first on an error. Jeff Johnson (Cal Poly SLO) pitched the ninth and gave up two hits, two earned runs, two walks, and one strikeout.
