'Landscape As Mediation ?'

I think that the creation of landscape is inextricably linked to the civilization of mankind: aerial representation can be used to discover Nazca Line in Peru formed one thousand years ago--the early human society recorded their behaviors as geometric symbol on the earth to convey the relationship between the most primitive human and the nature. The 360-degree agricultural irrigation technology in Goodland, Kansas, USA also creates the unique geo-agricultural landscapes on land.

In Yuanyang County, China, the Hani people have been cultivating the land for more than a thousand years and rice fields on the hillside have finally become the valuable human cultural heritage. William Shakespeare refers to the viewpoint of 'True, the people are the city' in The Tragedy of Coriolanus, which I think is the same as far as the country is concerned, where the landscape created by human activities. Second nature will be regarded as an important symbol of the landscape civilization.

Proj: [RESERVE] Diversifying thermal dimensions for adaptation

GSD Core Studio III Team work [Academic] Collaborator: Sunmee Lee, Sophia Sennett Instructor : Craig Douglas Date: Autumn 2017 The past decade has been the hottest on record for the Northeast. Climate change increases evaporation, precipitation and, therefore Boston is not only getting hotter, it is also increasingly overwhelmed by snow storms. The [RESERVE] is a harbor side residential neighborhood calibrated to address and utilize shifts in weather conditions. It is called the Reserve for its role as a deposit or snow farm and its position on the Boston's Reserve Channel.


According to the tide and annual flooding data we analysed, the mapping shows the boundary of dry and potentially inundated area, which can be used as an indicator of site condition change through time. Considering the urban scale, the heat map shows the varieties of thermal dimensions. In this case, we are interested in the generation and management microclimates to enrich the diversity in an urban context. IN relationship to the projected increase and intensification in weather conditions, Boston experienced an extreme snow storm in 2015. The space which the government used as the snow farm to deposit snow collected from the city was here, close to our site. The Massachusetts DEP does not typically allow for dumping of snow in harbors, wetlands or rivers, because of the presence of toxic sand, oils, and grease from roads.


Mass Snow Manipulation

In relationship to the 2015 snow pile (240,733m3) As wewe roughly calculate the volume of snow pile in that farm, the total area is approximately 7.75 Acre, the Hight is 23 meters and the volume is 240733 m3 from our calibration with restorative plantings create a snow management system servicing approximately 30% ofthat our prototype can accommodate 30% of this volume. 'Snow Farm Infrastructure' Based on our contextual analysis, we began to consider how to use our site as a framework, which contains a more flexible and sustainable infrastructure to deal with climate change in the future. By manipulating the topography, we sought to build up a landform with more depression surface area, inviting more fresh water, salt water and snow get into our site. After that, manipulating these infrastructures parametrically, which creates a more dynamic system with the abundance of thermal dimensions. Next, Phia will now begin to introduce our design process.


'Topography Iterations' The first is hydrology. Our first study recognized how the freezing point of water registers variables. Through iterations we developed a topography that has a gradient of center points and depths that create sectional distinction within a gridded plan. The topography generated from this analysis was modeled here and the drawing is an associated heat map.

'Shadow & Reflection' The second element of our design is vegetation. At the [RESERVE] snow deposits and melt filter along vegetated channels, removing toxins, hydrocarbons, and heavy metals before reaching Boston Harbor. It is important to note that in addition to pollution, snow collects a significant amount of debris and trash. Manual maintenance will be another layer of filtration. Building Mass – These reflection and shadow studies were how we designed with un understanding of microclimates. We experimented with transparent studies like the one showed on that table to develop a configuration that allowed for a system of melt.

'Snow Management Scenarios'

'Transient Ground' Finally, these are the serial deductive scenarios going to show. These scenes tell the spatial and thermal diversity manipulated by vegetation, building shape, material, circulation and topography as well. First, the function of these basins can be changed from time to time: snow deposited, detention pond, salt farm or playground to deal with different weather conditions. Moreover, even at the same time, the scenes can be totally different from place to place because of microclimate manipulation.


As you can be clear from perspectives, snow piles, water ponds potentially change the circulation and the definition of public and private as well. Second, the trees can be affected by the building shape by changing the sun exposure, which shows different leaf colors at the same time. Last, building faรงade reflection associates with decreasing the duration of snow melts. On the contrary, the snow will get melt slower thanks to the building shade.

Heping, a remote and humble village, located at Hualian Province, northeast part of Taiwan, has dramatically changed by cement industry program during short thirty years. The R.O.C. government promote a plan (industrial development of east) in 1980s in order to effectively exploit its marble resource for cement production and considerable profit. Pathetically, scandals can always be covered in shadows------- The government inappropriately occupied the land which belonged to local aborigines (Truku), and paid nothing back in return. The proposal of this project is to make a provocation about civilization and savagery by deducting a possibility of future scenarios. The age of noncontrolled exploitation is over. As this industrial program will be shut down in 3 years, it provides us with an opportunity to observe this ancient civilization and nature from other aspects. Moreover, it is a living project, which has no completion date, its experiences and messages will continually evolve and adapt; creating experiences of true community within a sublime place that will grow with the people, nature and also their civilizations.


'A Mineral Empire'

I was born in this land. When I was young, Truku was regarded as the guardian of mountain. We showed the great respect to nature because it is the faith of our lives. However, after industrialization, we lost our farmland, hometown. I feel painful about that delirious mineral exploitation.

There is no doubt that Industrialization should be regarded as a reasonable path to prosperity of the nation: it also used up nature resource, break the balance of eco system and even worse wiped out the ancient Atayal civilization, which has been existed for hundreds of years.


'Our Mother River Vanished!'

Previously, the water for farming or drinking all extracted from Zhuoshui River. Nowadays, in order to protect the constructions of factories and power plant, they built a dike to mitigate flow impact. Even worse, making exploitation in the upstream river and contaminated the water resource. Till now, Alluvial sector has already lost stable stream.

In spring, the distribution of rainfall time is well-balanced, the intensity of instant flooding is moderate. The stable embranchments and ground water can be found at Mid and Down steam reaches of river.

Influencing by typhoon and rainstorm in alluvial sector, the flooding speed will increase instantly. With the construction of dike, which decreases the area of flooding and highly accelerates soil erosion rate.

The rainfall dramatically decreases during autumn. It is hard to find ground water in down riverbed. At the same time, the erosion of soil makes it hard for plants to survive on riverbed.

The valley comes into the season of drought, rainfall days is rare to find. Since the plants are unable to survive on riverbed, the ground is dehydrated and then desertification, which makes sandstorm rages village.

The old warehouse will be creatively transformed into a greenhouse for indoor plant cultivation and tourism.

Part of the cement factory will be updated and redeveloped as a plant research center, joined the industrial chain of new sphere.

'Come Home, Truku' The Land Lab emphasis to the strategy for adjusting and redeveloping industrial structure, which positively establish an industry chain for sustainable development. First, The Land Lab includes botanical production, research, cultivation and etc. It provides with an effective approach to reasonably use nature resource, adding linkage and interconnectivity with stream corridors, open spaces and ecological systems, help ensure a health selfsustaining eco-system.


'People As Dynamical Landscape' As the descendant of Truku, We truly hope to have more opening spaces for gathering, playing sports and traditional ceremonies.

We do not think our tradition just living in myth, tales or a piece of paper, but as a kind of spirit that all of us need to learn from our ancestor.

'Comparison and Communication'

Inspired by the wounds left on top of mountains caused by industrial mining, this pattern of language will be transformed and then projected onto this field as a basic landform concept. It is not only an ironic thinking of nature manipulation and consumption, but also using these geometric linear as a symbol of contemporary language of landscape This opening space will be identified as functions of education, commerce, ceremonies, gathering and farming. These activities will compose a living scene, which makes a contrast and conversation with its nearby industrial landscape. Consequently, Symbiosis will be a balanced relationship between these two kinds of landscape.


'Regeneration of Truku Culture' Let's dancing in the rain to celebrate coming of spring!

Grazing, ceremony of ancestor and singing harmoniously happen on the same ground, create infinite possibility.

I'm so glad to see our clansman gather together for dancing and training !

Activities: hunt training, sporting and education share the space like a vivid stage to perform Truku culture.

Thank God for giving us a harvest year !

The cognition of space and surrounding environment can be produced by the interaction between people and space itself. Nowadays, with the acceleration of urban renewal, open space can be shaped or even wiped much easier.

In this condition, the storage of city memories became temporary, cracked pieces. As the history has already being buried under ground, the regeneration of space should be regarded as a continuing story of past or a relentless preface of new one?

Preserved as Culture Heritage

With the development of Taipei City, this place has been abandoned for many years that gradually form a gap between buildings. Besides, even local residents who lived here for a long time will not obtain his feeling and memory as the place is totally vanished. By and large, this kind of gap should be regarded as a crevice of city texture. The appearance and function of this site changes from time to time. Nevertheless, the nature of site is a public place for people to use. Thus, creating a linkage between people and space is the main purpose of design.


'An Ambiguous Decade' After the abandon of West Temple, this region was occupied by Taipei Institute of Education and Military dependents' village. Nost of houses were unauthorized and undocumented, gathering together as a special community. The snack bar around the community was so famous that many people were willing to come even it was shabby and frowzy.

As this region was identified as urban renewal, the attribute of land use was changed from commercial use to plaza. Culture Affairs announced that the Omotesando of West Temple was assigned as historical preservation. Since the military dependents' village was demolished, the whole area was preserved and transformed as green land.

Due to the inappropriately protection of historical preservation, in august, 2005, a terrible fire happened in West Temple, which also caused bad influence on other surrounding buildings. After this accident, the dilapidated temple was almost devastated, the green land disappeared either. During that time, this region was regarded as an abandoned space.

After the Town Hall Meeting of Taipei Government, the proposal of culture preservation project successfully get passed. Ironically, after the fire accident, West Temple has already laid around in tatters. The government has to rebuild the temple and surrounding buildings as it used to be. The open space was repaired fundamentally, serving as a park for citizens to use.

Since the Bell Tower and rest of temples were repaired, the government also reformed open space landscape in order to make a brand new beginning of this region. Pathetically, after destroying and repairing over and over again, citizens have already forgot what it used to be. Till now, the temple is served as literature library, the other buildings still keep empty.

'An Isolated Plaza'

According to the surrounding analysis, the city context of this region has dramatically changed from time to time, which becomes a complicated and chaos figure and also generate many vague boundaries. The original site have been occupied by residential apartment, subway entrance, retail stores.After repairing , most of buildings has been built as it used to be. 'A Deduction Montage of City Memories '

Scenario montage is a kind of strategy that effectively overlay people and space together in order to generate a spatial sequence. The access routine of different people will be distinctive. Thus, in order to create various kinds of interaction between people and space, using photos, movie cutting and deducting as basic resources, establish a montage catalog of scenarios. For instance, couples, old man, children, pets and masters, women and teenagers are all included. In addition, this catalog will also be used as a reference of possible routines. Selecting from catalog and overlaying them, can get a result of motivation network. These spatial nodes will no longer separate from each other, which promote a possibility of interaction between people and space.


'Spatial Fold and Interaction'

[Past] As the former memory of West Temple, Omotesando will be completely preserved. In addition, the paving on each side of the path will be designed by grading control and material transforming (gravel), which makes the plaza ground much obvious to tell people a story about historical transition. The paving boundary of central area of plaza is designed as an organic fold line, which looks like the cracking of ground and make an exposure of its past.

[Current] The trees grow in this site (old Banyan tree, Beech, Sakura) will also be conserved as an essential element that bridge the city memories from past till now. Although the Military dependents' village has been removed, as the people who used to live in this place come back again, these trees would like the key to evoke their memories. What’s more, these trees will also be served as nudes in open space, which provides opportunities for people to social or rest here.

[Future] Since the open space is regarded as plaza, reinforce the interaction with surrounding area is a vital strategy to revitalize the space. According to the current situation, two sides of this block is totally closed. Thus, adding new entrances can create more motive routine in the plaza, which makes people can come and get through more convenient than before. With the opening restaurants and tea bar in historical buildings, these interlaces routine can bring more activities and also enhance the function of opening space.

'Space Sequence'

According to my observation and deduction, the motivation of people can be multiple and unexpected. Because of this, the vitality of space comes from the interaction of people and space itself. We create platform for people to have a communication with external environment. By using tree pot, wall, waterscape and grass slope as basic elements to revitalize the space, which makes the space no longer tedious.

I exaggerate some size of furnitures to create a unique open space experience. For instance, increasing the depth of tree pot, which makes it more obvious for people to see the transition of time. Besides, these trees are also regarded as mediation between time and space, no matter the people who used to live here, tourists or residents, they can find their own way to communicate with trees. Therefore, the fragments of city memories will also be integrated by revitalization of plaza.


'Space Resonance'

Paving, lighting and historical buildings should also be regarded as essential media to build up space. The multiple use of paving materials (black brick, gravel, marble) is in order to create a rich spatial hierarchy. Lighting is not only design for night illumination, but also make people feel safer when they stay in the plaza during the night. The major color will be arranged as yellow and orange, which create a warm and lively atmosphere during night.

Collaborating with the fold line of ground boundaries, the plaza presents a unique scenery from day time. Historical buildings will also be served as restaurants, tea bar and shops. Thanks to this commercial atmosphere, the connection between inside and outside has enhanced, which allow people to get an overall understanding about this region. As a consequence, revitalization of space will be an important move for delivering city memories constantly.

Long ago, fishers used simple tools to fish which won’t make any bad influence to nature ecology. As time goes by, people use advanced technologies to fish, but it result in some problems. For an example, farming oysters is a good way to make a living for some fishermen. However, it can produce a lot of rubbish, such as self-made bamboo structure or foamed buoyant material, which do serious harm to ocean ecosystem. A whale fall is the carcass of a cetacean that has fallen into the bathyal or abyssal zone on the ocean floor. They can create complex localized ecosystems that supply sustenance to deep-sea organisms for decades. Nowadays, Taiwan has been built many harbors for fishery and economic trade. Nevertheless, it also led to the decrease of wetland and species extinction. To combine the relationship with nature and human as a goal, three-step design match to the sea level. As the level rising, various purpose and landscape appeared. Moreover, Human activities also add to the design: diving, enjoying sunset and fishing etc. Eventually, we expected that it will come into being a harbor of human activity and natural ecology.


'Shrink and Boom'

The old Anping Harbor has a long history which was built during Japanese Occupation. Durding the old days, the old Anping Harbor was used as a farm for the oyster culture. Many famers built oyster cloister around the harbor, it can be the best way for them to make a living. After that, the harbor started being used in a commercial way.

There are many attractions located around our site, which were rebuilt or protected to improve the value of journey. The visitors can not only see the historic buildings, but also can experience Anping Tree House. Nevertheless, pathetically, these heritages vanish gradually because of sea level rising.

The historical value of Anping Harbor is significant because the site was home to the earliest immigrants to Taiwan, from the Dutch who navigated to Taiwan in the 1620s to their conqueror Koxinga. Thanks to convenient shipping transportation, More fisherman decided to go fishing on the sea or selling productions to other provinces by ships.

The cultivation of oyster and milkfish is regarded as the most important industry in local area. However, the expansion of fish pond would inevitably influence its surrounding natural wetland system. For instance, Sicao Wetland, exists as the largest wetland in this region, has dramatically shrunk by expansion of fish farm.

With the rising of sea level, Anping Harbor, surrounding oyster farming and fish pond will be submerged in the future. Traditional fishery industry, agriculture and transportation has to face this serious challenge. On the other hand, as an opportunity, probably it is the time to transform the confliction situation between Industrial development and natural environment. In this condition, a new ecological structure will be proposed in order to reach a symbiosis status.

'Horizontal to Vertical'

The Harbor itself can be divided as a vertical layer system.

The resilient top surface can make it better to adapt changeful environment.

The inner space can be connected vertically and horizontally for species communication.

Considering the relationship between ecosystem and artificial harbor. Nowadays, people build many harbors for economic development, on the other hand, it also destroyed the natural system. As a result, we should make a new plan for the south coast.

Diversity kinds of activities will happen from bottom to top of constructed harbor.

Vertical stratification is the main idea for this project. We divide the whole system to three levels. The first level, which mainly consist of plants and terrestrial animals and birds. The second level provides various kinds of human activities. The third level, which is constructed for marine organism and fishery (human). To combine the relationship with nature and human as a goal, three-step design match to the sea level. As the level rising, various purpose and landscape appeared. Moreover, Human activities also add to the design: diving, enjoying sunset and fishing etc.


'The Evolution Process'

Since the old harbor is discarded by the transformation of local environment, a new harbor is constructed gradually in place. With the rising of sea level, a vertical eco-system of new harbor will be finished step by step. Finally, with the construction of new harbor, the structure will integrate fishery, tourism and wetland system as a whole.

One of the most important activities in this harbor is fishing. Updating the technology of oyster cloister, we could provide a better environment for the fisherman. In addition, the pollution can also be reduced by using less foamed buoyant material.

Artificial harbor can be formed with many aspects. Such as constructed wetland, long beach, which can provide people with various kinds of activities. The young people prefer to surfing, diving, besides, the old people would like to see birds and marine animals.

The harbor is mainly divided into two parts. The function of type A is manufactured fish farm and exhibitions which show many old ships and the fishing tools. In contrast, the type B seems like a private dock, where people sailing.


'Aquarium, Museum, Lighthouse'

Since ancient times, the establishment of harbor is regarded as vital symbol of civilization. Facing the change of environment and society, its function and figuration will transform from time to time. On the other hand, the harbor itself serves as a witness of fishery civilization, cultural heritage will be an important responsibility for this evolving harbor. Therefore, the integration of modern fishery technology, historical exhibition and environmental education will let people get a better cognition about future development about natural environment and industry. At the same time, it will also serves as a new gateway to the city, guiding the direction for people to come home safely.


Proj: Cessation Process Buddhist Thinking of ‘Zen’

The proposal of this project is to build a tranquil, relaxing ecological resort near a bird sanctuary. ‘Zen’ is our basic concept of creating opening space and villas. Most of time, people will directly connect ‘Zen’ with meditation. Nevertheless, according to Buddhist philosophy, meditation is not the only path. ‘Zen’ should neither be regarded as pure action or an interior decoration, it more likes a process of cessation. Why people have to meditation? What is the interrelationship between ‘Zen’ and space?

In our modern society, people suffer from various kinds of pressure, pain, depression, hopelessness. If they cannot release pressure in time,Studying the theory of suffering in Buddhist philosophy, we knew that people could relieve pain by cessation process. Thus, the space should provide people with an environment that they can focus on one thing, and this thing could be everything on our daily life, including eating, sleeping, reading etc. Gathering these space together, we can get a spatial sequence that assist people to find their inner peace.

Site Analyse | Plan Site is located between Hengchun township and Kenting Street, far from tourist`s attractions, so visitors who target on Kenting` s beach and music festival would not choose our hotel. The area of site is about 8.0185(ha). And the range of elevation is from 26 to 29 meters. While, the average slope is just 2~3%, in a word, the original terrain is flat.


Spatial Rhythm | Sequence

The process of Entering the lobby and check-in seems as change from chaos to order. People come with pressure, tiredness, eager for inner peace, which represent various kinds of emotions. Passing through the front yard to inside of lobby, the contrast of opening and narrow space effectively relax people’s emotion.

Walking from public space to courtyard, from inside of building to private backyard. Each spatial sequence leads people experience distinctive outside landscape and inner decoration. People could meet with friend in service house or enjoy his private space in the backyard. This consideration ensure people directly talk with nature.

The relationship between people and environment would divide as ‘outside’ and ‘inside’. ‘Outside’ means people stay inside of house or pavilion to observe outside nature environment, water and plants serves as a media of conversation with nature. ‘Inside’ means walking in the garden to percept difference between human and nature.

Constructed wetland is regarded as an excellent stage for people to experience nature. Through meditation, people can make an imagination of integrating himself as part of nature; a perception of constantly changing conditions; a lively world: birds singing and dance of trees. Finally, through the process of Zen, they will find their inner peace.


ENTRANCE | LOBBY (The Five Dust, 5th consciousness) The lobby locate at the entrance of the holiday village. It’s convenient for people to check in, moreover, it provides various kinds of items: Yoga, reading, restaurant, cafÊ, music. The parking lot is designed specifically. According to the order of owner, it should accommodate about 70 cars. We design a half-underground type so that the bad view can be hide and the grass slope becomes a wide square for outdoor activities.


VILLA | YARD (The Ego Center, 7th consciousness) According to the functional layout, thermal environment, optimize the design surface area and courtyard design for single residential flat. The courtyard is consisted with 5 double villas and a service house. We name it “Gunjyo�, which owns four Chinese Tallow Trees as a focus point. In particular, surrounded by creek, two of the backyards would have a special waterscape. The negative space of this courtyard is mainly consisted of a small pond. We create a unique place that villas are next to water pond closely. Accordingly, the atmosphere is quite peaceful. We also build a timber bridge over the pond, which shines during the night.

WETLAND (Alaya Vinana, 8th consciousness)

The annual rainfall is concentrated in five to eleven months. Therefore, wetland ponds may need help for a long time to pump water during the dry season. There are two discarded fish farms in site. What’s more, there are many species of migratory birds nearby . For this reason, we should design the constructed wetland in an ecological way, which can not only provide guests with a natural footpath, but also rebuild a comfortable habitat for birds.


Proj: Nanjing Liuhe Modern Agriculture To build the vision of beautiful country in Chenqiao, Nanjing, Our team is trying a new planning mode to keep financial balance, solving functional flaw of old houses and inheriting regional culture for a sustainable development as a whole. This planning project intend to establish a platform for multiple participations, transform the traditional ‘overall contracting’ to a sustainable mode that reach long-term strategic goal. This proposal not only provides a reasonable support for local residents to start a business, but also offers professional farming lecture for people to learn. At the same time, updating local infrastructure can also attract people to start their lives in this region. First of all, establishing an interests community is the key step to combine government, developers, local residents and other enterprises together, which allows local residents become a shareholder through their property right, and positively involve into the whole process of the project. On the other hand, the establishment of interests community will provide with more sources of capital and a more rational principle for exchange of property rights. Above all, it is a new attempt to solve the issues of high cost demolition and disintegration of social relationship.

Proj: YouBike + Mapping study of sharing bikes use in Taipei

In the past, public bikes in various cities around the world have been dominated by stationary parking piles, such as the many years of public bikes in Taipei. We are curious as to whether this seemingly anachron-style public bike has the advantage of having the advantage of the opportunity to make the site have a service outside of the car. And already with the city closely bound the site space, has the opportunity also become the one potential area that people could meet or gathering?


The larger the number of parking Spaces, the brighter the color. Conversely, the darker the color is, the less the number of vehicles will be parked. You can see that from eight o 'clock in the day, the number of stops is significantly reduced, which means that vehicles are released into the city. After 2 p.m., the second wave of use peaked. And after 6pm, the dosage began to decrease. The city government MRT station is a normal hot spot, because its number of vehicles is much larger than other sites (180 cars), so the visual impact on the readability of other station changes.

At 4-5 PM, another major user of the national father memorial station is the student. Different from office workers, students are almost all groups, so often see a few people take the bus, or on his car waiting for their partner, in this very short three to five minutes, occupying a small piece of the pavement area waiting to chat. In response to this situation, it may be possible to guide the user into the temporary waiting area through the pavement or ground signs to reduce the obstruction to other users or passers-by.


We use for the two types of site situation, has made the assumption that a single highs because of using single crowd, namely borrow with or group of users, such as residential areas of workers also borrow the car during the day night car; And many high and low peaks are due to the use of a variety of people, there are more than two groups of users. Of course, this assumption may be too arbitrary, but with the hypothesis, it is convenient for us to observe and revise more pertinently.


We have found that existing sites do have the opportunity to improve service and use friendliness for different groups of people. On the other hand, although the current two sites are consistent with our assumption of "single high and low peak and single use population", the sample size is too few to prove the authenticity. We believe that it is necessary to have a lot of field observations for the use of the population, and to compare the time points and regional functions to get closer to the actual use of YouBike.


Proj: Micro City Climate Change Deduction

The open space between tall buildings in the city is often overlooked. However, due to the diversity of urban microclimate, with the change of the solar Angle, the shadow generated by the building also projected different shapes on the ground, thus affecting the microclimate of the surrounding environment. The first scene depicts that if the open space in the city is used as a snow field in winter, the truck will transport the nearby snow pack to the site and accelerate the melting in the sunlight. But it is also possible that in the second scene, the open space is distributed in the shadows, so that the snow that stays here for a long time will not melt, thus becoming the playground for citizens to ski in winter.


On a hot summer day, outdoor pedestrians choose to walk in the shadows. So the use of open space in this season is very different from other times. People will spontaneously find a place to rest and chat around trees, and rarely run games on open turf. But when the sun began to set and the temperature was no longer so hot, people began to gather in the clearing to play, to exercise, to chat.


Trees in urban open Spaces can be an important reference for observing microclimate change. The difference in temperature between regions due to the distribution of the shadow of the building, and the difference in the time of the plant being exposed to the light, will make the leaves of the same plant appear in different colors.

On rainy days, the sunken urban open space naturally forms a reservoir and collects the surrounding rainstorm water here. In addition, due to the impact of climate, the open space that was originally used as an outdoor activity in sunny days will not be able to walk, thus the surrounding traffic routes have also changed.
