He Said: Shiplap has been a popular detail for a number of years, but I feel it is overused. The push now is to use different trim profiles, with mixed textures and colors. The trend of less is more will continue to evolve with the reduction of crown moldings and increased use of square elements. He Said: Front porch living is one of the most underused “rooms” of a home. We are seeing a return to larger front porches that address the street and neighbors. Porches that once were 6-8’ deep have become 10’+ allowing for full dining tables.
He Said: I lean more towards the bronze and silver or stainless colors. I am still scarred by the 90’s polished brass, so I am slowly warming up to the new gold trend.

She Said: Shiplap is always a great look but has become so commonplace. Lately we’ve been incorporating more unique wall treatments to help differentiate each home.
She Said: While curb appeal is important, I feel the back of the home is where you’ll do most of your outdoor living. Invest in the porch that captures the best views and where you’ll spend the most time entertaining.
