an outdated, dark eighties décor.” Walking through the house now, you would never know it wasn’t a newconstruction project. The floors, which are original to the house, are re-stained red oak. Since oak is such a durable wood, Chris and the homeowners decided that staining (with a “Harper Gray” tint, named for Harper Construction’s ability to
customize the product) would be better than replacing them. Of the home’s style, Chris explains, “We have a strong partnership with Shannon Bogan at S. Bogan Designs, who brought in all the décor, worked to make the kitchen flow into the rest of the house, and chose the color scheme.” The neutral palette
proves to be both chic and modern; the “Accessible Beige” paint is a Sherwin-Williams color that Chris and his team really love. At this home, Chris suggested painting the walls at 100-percent gradient, the ceiling at 25-percent, and the trim at 50-percent to create continuity in the rooms.
