Beginning in 2010, the City of Chattanooga Department of Education, Arts & Culture has led a Renovation and Revialization Campaign to not only restore the newly completed named Robert Kirk Walker Community Theatre, but to also develop patriotic programs, a partnership with the National Medal of Honor Museum with historic displays in the main lobby, and most recently under the leadership of Steering Committee Co-Chair Admiral Vance Fry, the installation of Veterans Information Kiosks that the Naval Museum in Washington, D.C. is calling a model for other museums and military history sites. During the renovations, the Walker Community Theatre underwent an upgrade of its seating, restrooms, lobby and concession areas to make them more attractive and accessible. Additionally, an elevator has been installed that provides access to this upstairs venue as well as to the upper levels of the main hall. Learn more at www.chattanoogaonstage.com.
