Anneli Uys Assistant Coach • First Year • Somerville, Australia • Chattanooga, 2010 Anneli begins her first season as the assistant coach for the cross country and track and field teams. She was a nine-time all-conference performer for the Lady Mocs with a pair of top 10 finishes in the women’s 5-kilometer cross country races. The four-time Southern Conference Outdoor Track champion in the 800 meter (twice) and 1500 meter (twice) was named the 2010 SoCon Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year after winning both. She qualified in her junior year for both events after winning each. However, the NCAA reformatted qualification standards for the region meet by dropping the number of meets from four to just two – East and West – and eliminating automatic qualifiers. Based on her time in the 1500 meter event, Uys earned a spot at the East Region meet her senior year. She also holds the school record for the outdoor track 800 meter run with a time of 2:08.99 clocked in the prelims of the event in 2009 at the league championships. In Indoor Track, Uys was a three-time all-conference performer with a third place PERSONAL RECORDS finish in the Mile and twice with the school’s Distance Medley Relay (DMR) team. In Indoor Track her senior year, she led the team from eighth place all the way to a second place and Mile............................ 4:49.59 all-conference finish as the anchor of the DMR. 800 meter................... 2:13.21* Outdoor Track She was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team and was a member of the 1500 meter................. 4:26.73 Southern Conference All-Academic Teams. She was a member of the Dean’s List while 800 meter. .................. 2:08.99* at UTC and named to the Athletics Director’s Honor Roll. Uys transferred from Memphis to Chattanooga after her sophomore year. *school record She was born in Pretoria, South Africa and moved to Australia where she became an Australian citizen.

David was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Third Team and became UTC’s first Academic All-American since 2006. He was also selected to the Capital One AllDistrict First Team. He won the Dayle May Award which is given to the senior Male and Female Student-Athletes with the top GPA at Chattanooga. With a 4.0 GPA in Engineering Management, David was a constant member of the Southern Conference All-Academic Teams, the UTC Dean’s List and the Athletics Director’s Honor Roll. In cross country, David helped lead the Mocs to a pair of Runner-Up finishes at the league championships and competed with UTC at the NCAA South Region Championships. He competed in the 800 meter in both indoor and outdoor track setting a PR in the 800m outdoor of 1:53.60. He participated in the 3000 meter run and Mile in the indoor championships and the 3000 meter Steeplechase and 1500 meter run at the outdoor championships. He was born in Sarnia, Ontario and is currently working toward his MBA at UTC.
