I am writing this article from the Passion Conference in Atlanta, GA. I am at the Georgia Dome with a group of high school seniors and college students from our church along with over 60,000 18-24 year-olds. That’s right: 60,000 college kids have given up a week of their winter break to gather for worship and preaching calling them to change the world. They are members of “the 1%.” Only one percent of the world’s population goes to college, and these young men and women will go on to lead our nation and the world. Here, they are being challenged not to squander this privilege, blessing, and influence on things that don’t matter, things that don’t have anything to do with Jesus. Already these students are making a major impact on the horrors of human-trafficking. They are being called to give three million dollars this year to see some of the more than 27 million slaves world-wide find freedom and hope. The vision for Passion started some sixteen years ago in the hearts of a handful of people, and now it is a world-wide movement. This generation that many of us have given up on could very well be the generation that sparks the sweeping revival our nation and world so desperately needs. My prayer is that some of this fire would come with us back to Oxford and Ole Miss as our church and North Oxford Baptist seek the face of Lord for revival in just a few weeks (there are students from North Oxford here this week). It is no accident that the Father has us here at this time. I hope you are earnestly praying that God would do something unprecedented in our city in these coming weeks. Draw your circle and ask our God to send revival . . . and let it begin in you. Bro. Eric
