We also host a variety of events throughout the year for all the family to enjoy. Children must be one metre tall to go underground. Step back in time at the National Roman Legion Museum and explore life in a farflung outpost of the mighty Roman Empire. Wales was the furthest outpost of the Roman Empire. Laugh out loud.. Tuesday 8th – Saturday 12 May Tickets: £23.50 Concessions: £18.50 01432 340555 Birmingham Stage Company, the acclaimed producers of Horrible Histories, are bringing their West End production of David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny to The Courtyard from Tuesday 8th to Saturday 12th May.

To book tickets, or for more information contact the Box Office on 01432 340555 or visit www.courtyard.org.uk.

Walliams, who is one of the judges on Britain’s Got Talent and co-creator of the groundbreaking comedy series Little Britain, is now the best-selling author for children in the country. David began his publishing career at Harper Collins in early 2008 with his debut novel The Boy in the Dress. Then, after writing two other popular stories, in 2011 he published Gangsta Granny, which was shortlisted for both The Red House Children’s Book Award and for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. Gangsta Granny is the story of Ben and his grandmother. It’s Friday night and Ben knows that means only one thing – staying with Granny! There will be cabbage soup, cabbage pie and cabbage cake and Ben knows one thing for sure – it’s going to be sooooooooo boring! But what Ben doesn’t know is that Granny has a secret – and Friday nights are about to get more exciting than he could ever imagine, as he embarks on the adventure of a lifetime with his very own Gangsta Granny! Gangsta Granny is a must for all families as the show will be enjoyed by everyone from 5 to 105! It’s both laugh out loud funny and thrilling but also has some very moving and truthful things to say about family relationships. The show was premiered in 2015 and has been touring the UK ever since as well as enjoying a West End season in summer 2017.

Precious Memories “I read somewhere once years ago, that a child who grows up surrounded by images of themselves will feel a greater sense of belonging. It installs on another level, the knowledge that they are loved. What a wonderful gift we can give to our children. Here at Jenny Giles Photography we are mums and know how quickly time goes by. We cherish those precious memories with our children, families and loved ones, and would love to capture your memories too. I have been running a successful photography business since September 2012. My daughter was just 6 months old when I first started. It has been an amazing five years and I am so proud of all that I have achieved, including hiring my wonderful member of staff Jemma, and together rebranding the whole business in 2017. We believe family portraits are invaluable. I want our clients to know that if they invest in me, you have someone who truly loves her craft, and goes beyond to ensure her clients receive only the highest quality in their experience and portraiture. My goal is to create images that are more than ‘pictures’. That are moments of time, captured forever and cherished a lifetime. We specialise in creative fine art photography for the whole family, for more information and to see samples of our work, please visit: www.jennygilesphotography.co.uk.

Day of fun... Treehouses, Trains and Treasure, whatever the weather. Armed with a key, clues and a day of fun ahead, explore the whole of Perrygrove to unlock your box of treasure. A trip takes just over 30 minutes but most passengers get off to go to the picnic and play area at Foxy Hollow, or to go treasure hunting or den building in the woods. There is no charge for extra rides – your ticket lasts all day and you can ride the steam train as many times as you like. There are four stations on our railway, each with paths leading to lovely walks through beautiful woodland. Our indoor village is fun for kids and just about big enough for most grown -ups too! It’s home to five houses connected by secret passages – they’re the perfect place for a game of hide and seek. The treetop adventure is great for some outdoor fun, with a slide, bouncy bridge and ladders to climb.

You can enjoy many events throughout the year including Teddy Bears Picnic in May, Cider Sausage & Steam in July, Vintage Working weekend in September, Halloween free in October, Christmas at Perrygrove in December. Perrygrove is open every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday all year round and daily in local, (Gloucestershire), school holidays – check the website for opening times and a comprehensive list of dates. There is large free car park on site. Perrygrove is based near Coleford on the edge of the Forest of Dean.
