About Us Georgia Aquarium is an entertaining, intriguing and educational experience for guests of all ages. While promoting a fun and enjoyable learning experience, the Aquarium instills in its guests a new appreciation for the worldâ€™s aquatic biodiversity. One of the Georgia Aquariumâ€™s major goals is to be the leading facility for aquatic animal conservation and research. On a global scale, the Georgia Aquarium supports, conducts and leads research on environmental and conservation issues. Georgia Aquarium is a 501(c)3 organization, and we rely on community support to fund our special programs including education and veterinary services.
Beluga and Freinds Meet some of the most loved animals at Georgia Aquarium: our beluga whales. In the highly anticipated return of our Beluga & Friends Interactive Program, youâ€™ll get to know these gentle arctic mammals under the guidance of one of our fantastic animal caretakers. During this unique interaction, youâ€™ll suit up and stand waist-deep in our beluga habitat alongside our beluga whale trainers. This close, hands-on encounter allows participants to form emotional connections with these magnificent animals that last a lifetime. Beluga & Friends Interactive Program has a very limited program schedule and capacity for reservations. For questions concerning availability, please contact the Call Center at 404.581.4000. All participants must bring a bathing suit to wear underneath their wet suits. Wet suits will be provided by Georgia Aquarium.
Journey withGentle Giants Journey with Gentle Giants is the only opportunity in the world where you are guaranteed to swim with whale sharks, the largest fish in the world, in Georgia Aquariumâ€™s Ocean Voyager exhibit built by The Home Depot. Guests will swim at the surface with a flotation device and air supplied by either a small compressed air cylinder or a snorkel. The following equipment is provided: mask and snorkel, gloves, booties, wet suit, flotation device and compressed air cylinder. Personal masks are permitted. Daily at 4:30 p.m. This is a 2.5 hour experience. The swim portion will last approximately 30 minutes, and participants will also view some behind-thescenes areas of the Georgia Aquarium. You may need to arrive earlier if you wish to experience AT&T Dolphin Tales show and the 4D Theater.
Dolphin Encounter In this exhilarating poolside animal interaction, you’ll go backstage inside our dolphin theater to meet, touch and feed one of the dolphin stars of our spectacular AT&T Dolphin Tales show. Spend some time with one or more of the delightfully charismatic dolphins in our care, and you’ll quickly understand what makes these marine mammals some of Georgia Aquarium’s most popular animals. During this dolphin experience, you’ll see many of the ways we care for our dolphins, participate in a training session and touch a dolphin during this hands-on poolside encounter. As you make the acquaintance of your new dolphin friends, you’ll even learn a few important things about these extraordinary animals. Our Dolphin Encounter program is only available on weekends and has a very limited capacity for reservations. Sea Otter Encounter With our unique sea otter encounter experience, you can go behind the scenes at the otters’ home in the Georgia-Pacific Cold Water Quest Gallery and interact with these charismatic animals. Over the course of approximately 40 minutes, you’ll enjoy an exclusive tour of the sea otter facility and a special educational presentation on sea otters, then help prepare a sea otter meal, and finally, participate in an exciting sea otter training session alongside Georgia Aquarium’s own animal trainers. The otter encounter experience offers exclusive, up close and personal animal encounters with sea otters while learning more about the Aquarium’s rescue, research and conservation initiatives, which includes providing muchneeded homes for orphaned and stranded sea otters! You’ll even take home a professional photo of your special and meaningful experience, courtesy of Georgia Aquarium.
Penguin Encounter Penguins are among our most beloved animals here at Georgia Aquarium. Now, in our Penguin Encounter, you can go behind the scenes at the GeorgiaPacific Cold Water Quest gallery and meet a penguin! In this program, you’ll enjoy an up close and personal encounter with a penguin, and you’ll also learn much more about these incredible animals, including how we care for them, as well as our research and conservation initiatives on their behalf – which are supported by your ticket dollars and participation in this program! At the close of this approximately-30-minute experience, you’ll have a greater understanding and appreciation of these remarkable birds, and you’ll even take home a professional photo of your memorable day courtesy of Georgia Aquarium.
General Admission Georgia Aquarium’s General Admission is our basic admission ticket, which gets you access to all of the Aquarium’s public exhibits, shows and galleries. Plus, $1.00 from every General Admission goes towards Georgia Aquarium’s research and conservation efforts. With just one transaction, you get admission to all permanent galleries; our spectacular AT&T Dolphin Tales show; the animated Deepo’s Undersea 3D Wondershow theater; and admission to our changing exhibits when available.
