Reflections From the Chaps ~ January 24, 2011

Getting to Know One Another Chaplain’s Reflection: Probably the only person I know of that has said he liked everyone, was the great humorist and statesman Will Rogers, from Oklahoma. He said, “I never met a man I didn’t like.” All of us meet an incredible number of people throughout our lives, and naturally, some of them are a challenge for us to like. But I am convinced that one of the best ways to overcome any dislike of someone is to simply get to know them better; to see where he or she is coming from that makes that person who they are. With that in mind, instead of being quick to judge, may we always try our best to get to know one another better and discover the golden qualities of each person, who God has made equally special in His eyes. God bless you Shipmates as we see the special value of everyone we come in contact with. Food 4 Thought: “I don't like that man. I must get to know him better.” – Abraham Lincoln A Second Helping: “Live in such a way that you would not be ashamed to sell your parrot to the town gossip.” –Will Rogers
