CrossFit Chaparral in 101 words: Keep workouts short, intense, and varied. Practice and train functional, compound movements: Squats, dead lifts, presses, cleans, and snatches. Master the body weight movements: pull ups, push ups, hand stands, sit ups, throws, holds, and rope climbs.  Run, jump, bike, swim, row and climb, hard and fast.  Combine these exercises in as many combinations as creativity allows. Routine is the enemy; keep your body guessing.  Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. And remember: Physical fitness void of moral character is worthless.  Visit us at www.crossfitchaparral.com.

Preschool Registration

Chaparral Christian Preschool and Kindergarten is now having open enrollment for the upcoming school year. Â It has been our practice to offer early enrollment at a discounted fee to our current, returning and Church member families during the entire month of February. Once we begin allowing registrations for outside families on March 1st, spaces will be filled on a first come, first-served basis. Please contact school director, Nicole Moran, for more information at 480-991-6440 or ccpk@qwestoffice.net.

Youth Group N21 Challenge for this week: Read Matthew chapter 6 (1-6, 7-15, 16-21, 22-24, 25-34) Tonight! - Games & Small Group Discussion 2/20 - Video Scavenger Hunt: Parent Drivers Needed! 2/27 - Worship Night The first weekend of March (3/4-3/5) we will participate in the annual 30-Hour Famine. Students will fast for 30 hours to help raise money to alleviate world hunger while gaining awareness of the global hunger problem that claims the lives of 8,000 children a day! Students will seek sponsors to support them during this event, typically at $30 per sponsor (enough to feed a child for a month), for each hour we go without food. All the money we raise will go to World Vision to support them in their efforts to provide food, clean water, education, shelter, clothes and the love of Christ to those in need. Participating students will need to pick up a collection envelope and go over some guidelines for the event. We will distribute packets and discuss the Famine this Sunday before we split into our small groups. You can help by encouraging your student to set and reach his/her sponsorship goal. Other ways you can help include coordinating the Saturday night meal, making a donation, providing transportation to our Saturday service project (if needed), and by praying that this event would be a powerful and transforming experience for our students.

Though this trip is centered around a medical surgical team, no medical experience is needed, just your presence to assist the surgeons and a willingness to help wherever necessary.  There are plenty of babies to be held, prayers to be given, encouragement and hands to hold for those preparing for surgery and plenty of opportunities to be the presence of Christ in a land that is in need of hope.  As the date is fast approaching, plans need to be made.  For additional information, please contact Wayne Worthington.

Sermon Notes "Taking Care of the Bears" 1 Samuel 17:34-37

Helpful Information We hope your worship experience with us will be meaningful. To help you feel a bit more comfortable with our campus and morning programs, we have included a few recommendations. We are glad you are here today! • We would like to get to know you! Each pew has a Welcome Book in which you can let us know prayer requests, sign up for events and update your information. Please pass the Welcome Book down the row so we can hear from everyone! • Communion/Lord’s Supper All followers of Christ are welcome to participate in our Service of Communion. If you have prepared yourself for this very special moment with our Savior, you are invited to his table. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30) Please take the emblems as they are passed and partake when you are ready. Some prefer to take it while it is in front of them before passing it along. • Offering In our first two services, a special time for giving is set aside. Participation is an act of worship and voluntary. During our third service there will not be a time specific for offering but rather boxes are placed at the entry to allow for giving as you are led. • Nursery We have a friendly, well-staffed and impeccably clean nursery located on the north side of the narthex. Please see an usher for directions. Flowers on the stage are provided by the Bolar Family in loving memory of Maggie Lynn Bolar. Prayer Requests Jack & Connie Jensen, Anne Perry - health concerns Welch Family - passing of Barry's brother Mission prayer: Vitor & Andrea Silveira. Keep Repare ministries in your prayers as Vitor & his team work on the bylaws & secure a base operation in Brasilia.
