what’s new? Dear readers, partners and friends, Our world is in a very polarized state. We fight for causes, and we oppose others. The world feels like it is being torn apart into two equally large pieces; two camps where there are people who want to protect what they have and what they believe is right, and people who see the need to move on, to explore new ways and new possibilities. Between the two camps there is war. Accusations surface and often the media increases the drama between the two camps, so we all feel like we are right, but we no longer have the willingness to ask questions to find out how things really are. When we want innovation and transformation, we need to get free from these polarizations. We need to see the middle way that will lead us past the old obstacles onto new and higher ground with new perspectives for all of us. At the Innovationsdorf, at the KaosPilots and at changels, we firmly believe that we need to let go of our attachments and simply be in that middle place. We see that we need to ask more questions again, and to keep searching and listening for that middle stance that will eventually help us move forward in a new and lifeaffirming way. We may need to let go of some beliefs we have come to love. Beliefs like “who are the good guys” and “who are the bad guys” in this world. Even beliefs of what gives us the energy and the will power to be here now and to fight for the things we believe are good and noble causes. If we want to find that middle way (which by the way can not be a lame compromise between two opinions), we need to learn to listen to each other again. Deep listening allows us to listen without wanting to beat the other with a better argument, but to see the world from the other’s perspective. To take new information in, without assuming that we know everything already. And then to come back with our questions to understand more. We believe that in this listening and talking on eye-level, there will be no more fights, but rather new understandings and questions that keep leading us to a higher ground.
