Department of science (Maths,Physics,Chemistry,Biology) Department of Turkish and Maths (History,Turkish,Literature,Geography,Philosophy&Psychology&Socialogy) Department of Turkish and Maths (Maths,Geography,Turkish Liteature,Philosophy,History) Department of English Language (English,English Literature) Maths,Turkish grammar and English are compulsory in all kinds of departmants.

Grandparents: There weren’t any selective courses. Religion/Social Science/Turkish/Maths/Citizenship are compulsory

Parents: Religion was selective. Language courses were selective Turkish & Maths were compulsory

Teenagers: Turkish grammar is compulsory. Selective courses are mentioned before


Did you use to wear a uniform? If yes, describe it (Grandparents) •

They used to wear a uniform.They had to wear black uniform and white collar.

Yes-suit for boys / dress for girls.


Do you wear a uniform? If yes, describe it (Teenagers) •

Uniform: We/They have to wear grey trousers,dark skirts,blue jacket,and white shirt.


How did/do you feel about wearing a uniform? •

Grandparents: It was difficult.I liked it and thought that it was necessary.It was cheap and easy to get it.

Parents: It was boring but necessary.

Teenagers: We think that it is unnecessary.

Grandparents: They were mostly illegible.Because of poverty,they couldn’t involve in our education.

Parents: They weren’t active in their school life. So they didn’t porticipate in our school life as well.

Teenager: They are closely in contact with teachers and the directors.They always encourage and support us.
