Established in 1997, Integra buildings have extensive knowledge of the modular building industry. They have expanded rapidly and earned an enviable reputation for both their products and design and build projects. They are now one of the UKâ€™s leading designer and manufacturer of innovative and bespoke off-site constructed modular buildings. Chameleon were approached by Integra to provide a workplace solution to fulfill the diverse and demanding needs of their employees, aiming to enhance their working environment. The design needed to complement the exterior modular building which they are known for as a business, emphasising the endless possibilities of their own portfolio. We recognised that with their requirements for both training facilities and business development, a flexible solution would be required. With this in mind, Chameleon shaped the ground floor area into an open plan business lounge environment that could be used by both staff and clients alike and for a mixture of uses that included; training, meetings, informal group collaboration and relaxation. A contemporary, industrial-style interior aesthetic was created with exposed ceilings and open plan areas to enable the buildingsâ€™ structure to be shown.

In March 2020 International tech giant Ideagen invested in a fantastic new 32,000sqft head office space located in Nottingham and contacted us to design, fit-out and refurbish the new space. Our team pulled together designs, visuals and site programmes to ensure that Ideagenâ€™s project was completed on time and within their budget, despite the challenges faced by COVID. The 20-week project that ran from May to September and saw us transform both floors to incorporate a variety of workspace settings, including collaborative and agile spaces and their very own 200 Degrees coffee shop. We wanted to create a space that not only had a contemporary finish, but focused on wellness and so our design incorporated biophilic elements to bring the outside in, providing a variety of areas for the team to relax and refresh. Ideagen invested in their workspace to create a space that will not only inspire their team for years to come but also provide them with a place to collaborate and grow together. wykeland design offer
Wykeland is a leading property development company with almost 50 yearsâ€™ experience, and a huge property portfolio. Over the last 17 years we have worked directly with them designing, project managing and fitting-out 28 newbuilds and refurbishment projects, along wth regular refurbishments of their own spaces. Our work has ranged from spaces with a footprint of 5,000 square feet, all the way up to 25,000 square feet. A prime example of our work with Wykeland can be found at Bridgehead Business Park, where we have completed fitouts for most of the premises on the estate, including SGS Packaging, Beal Homes, IT@Spectrum, Ergocentre, Victoria Plumb and the innovation joint venture between the university and the council.
The Energy and Environment Institute brings together leading interdisciplinary academics to tackle global issues surrounding climate change and its consequences on livelihoods. Previously located across several disparate locations, the EEI secured funding through the university to create a tailored solution and bring all their departments together into one fully refurbished building. As part of a tender competition with four other participants, Chameleon successfully secured the opportunity to fulfill the project, and in accordance with the EEIâ€™s focus, create an environmentally considered solution, ideally with a SKA accreditation [RICS environmental assessment method] Through relationships with our suppliers and contractors, along with our knowledge and experience of design and materials, we were able to successfully achieve the SKA Gold rating, a first for this particular type of project and one of only sixteen other projects in the rest of the UK with this accreditation. Our design enabled us to create a showcase for the university and itâ€™s department that is both a functional and productive workspace, incorporating collaborative meeting areas and break-out spaces, and one that gives consideration to current trends in biophillic design and wellness, emulating the very ethos of the EEI.

We have partnered with ResQ since they were established with just 3 employees in 2006, designing and fitting out offices every year for staffing levels, which have grown to 1100 people. From a design perspective, this involves absorbing the companyâ€™s growth plans into the designs, whilst optimising the space they have throughout each stage of growth. Our work involves displacing significant numbers of staff within occupied buildings with minimal disruption, all the while maintaining the high standards and client friendly approach that have secured our place as a long-term partner. These images are of our latest collaboration with ResQ which will see a full refurbishment of a 30,000 square feet iconic building adding a further 350 people to the company.

Founded in 1965, Hugh Rice had expanded from a modest basement workshop to today’s chain of thriving high street jewellery stores stocking the most recognisable and loved brands from across the world. Still a family firm and looking to expand their operations within a new head office premises befitting their company and ambitions, we were approached to transform their space from designing to furnishing. We renovated and refurbished the interior of a prime Humber Dock marina location, finishing the scheme by adding a second floor roof pod that housed a flexible working space, conference and training suite with adjoining garden terrace with a backdrop that provides a truly spectacular conference and work experience. ‘The ideas and design process with Chameleon couldn’t have been easier.
