Arthritis Foundation Exercise Class is an exciting exercise program designed for adults living with arthritis and seniors. This class helps participants improve their fitness level by increasing flexibility, strength and endurance, while protecting their joints from stress and strain. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese art form that incorporates relaxation and meditation while exercising. Tai Chi exercise is characterized by soft, slow, flowing movements, and deep breathing which encourages Chi (energy flow) throughout the body. Tai Chi may increase your range of motion, and help improve your balance as well as help get rid of stress. This class is suitable for anyone and can be adapted to fit specific needs. The ideal opportunity to learn the game of a lifetime at an early age. Each student will receive the US Kids Golf Level 1 booklet which has form and skill tests for full swing, chipping, putting, rules and etiquette, plus playing (done in our golf simulators). This program is open to all 1st through 3rd graders at Gurney Elementary School. Instructors will organize a variety of after-school sports that include soccer, volleyball, baseball/softball and basketball. MOM/DAD TOTNASTICS (18 MOS - 3 YRS WITH A PARENT)

This class is designed in a semi-structured, noncompetitive atmosphere. You and your child will learn the basic (age appropriate) gymnastic skills and movement patterns on small and larger scale equipment (like big brother or sister). This class will help facilitate your child’s gross motor skills and language development while learning colors, numbers, and shapes through games and creative play and will also give your child the opportunity to interact with others. Have fun helping your child through the different obstacle courses set up each week using the gymnastics equipment along with balls, hoops, tunnels, and many other fun activities. No experience is necessary. Your child must be 4½ years of age before the first class unless recommended by the instructor. This class will emphasize learning movement patterns of gymnastics and gymnastic skills which will help them increase their body awareness in space. Learn basic tumbling skills such as cartwheels, handstands, and rolls, plus use smaller scale equipment such as balance beams, vault, and bars, to help acquire gymnastic skills quickly and safely. For girls and boys with little or no experience. A great place to start if your child is interested in gymnastics. This class has an emphasis on proper warm-ups, stretching, and strengthening exercises. It introduces the basics of balance and body orientation in space used in gymnastics. Students learn basic skills on all equipment; such as pullovers on uneven bars, roundoffs off the balance beam, cartwheels, other floor tumbling skills, and vault. INTERMEDIATE GYMNASTICS (7 - 14 YRS)

More advanced skills will be introduced on all pieces of equipment (including back handsprings), challenging students to progress onto our gymnastics team or recreationally with an emphasis on building flexibility and strength. All of this is done in a fun, caring, and positive atmosphere. Students will be encouraged to learn how to develop into an independent gymnast, as well as build their self-confidence. Instructional soccer for children 3-6 years old. Three and four years old have fun and learn the basics of dribbling, passing, and shooting. Five and six year olds learn the same basics and are introduced to positioning, spacing, and defense.
