Inspired by a deep love of learning, the gifts of nature and the diversity of humanity, Margaret Chadwick founded Chadwick School, aiming to empower students to unlock their highest potential, do good on campus and beyond the gates, and lead in an ever-changing global landscape. She focused on character, diversity and experiential education — anchors of the Chadwick education that continue today. Although no longer a boarding school, Chadwick still remains a second home for many students and alumni. The size of the school and community’s embracement of the Core Values are evident in the lifelong friendships and bonds formed among classmates, students, teachers and parents. When you attend Chadwick School, you are a Dolphin for life. Alumni frequently visit campus and consider Chadwick classmates their closest friends (see page 10). Many parents who met through Chadwick events have become close friends who spend much of their time outside of school together; meet a group of those parents on page 14. For many, Chadwick is truly the family they choose. The small-town feel of Chadwick also allows for strong cross-grade and cross-divisional friendships and collaboration opportunities on campus, with kindergarten classes often visited by Upper School students, Middle School students volunteering in Village classrooms, and ninth-and 10th-graders bonding with older classmates through co-curricular offerings. This unique Chadwick education is not possible without the support of our community. We appreciate your commitment and the opportunities you bring to every student through your gifts. Thanks to you, we can continue our founder’s vision and our current Mission to develop global citizens with keen minds, exemplary character, self-knowledge and the ability to lead. To quote Margaret Chadwick, “It is truly a family school.” Thank you for your important role in our Chadwick family.

Dear Chadwick Community, Our strength as an organization, as a school and as a community comes from our shared commitment to each other, and to living according to our Core Values of compassion, fairness, honesty, respect and responsibility. Truly, Chadwick is the family that we have chosen, and it is a family I was honored to choose 20 years ago. During the 2017-18 school year, our community came together to strengthen our Chadwick family in a number of ways, and I’m proud to share some highlights with you. 6

Class of 2018 Our graduating Class of 2018 continues to make us proud, matriculating to their “best fit” colleges throughout the country. The 63 members of the Class of 2018 received 314 offers of admission from 122 colleges and are attending Brown University, Cornell University, the University of Michigan, Georgetown University, the University of Southern California and the University of California at Berkeley, among other institutions. We know these graduates are entering a competitive and dynamic career marketplace, and we continue to refine our curriculum to ensure our graduates are prepared to succeed in an interconnected and technologically advanced world. Three New Curricular Centers After several years of research and planning, we announced three new curricular centers that will help us create learning opportunities that are authentic, student-centered, engaging and transformative. In the true Chadwick way, these curricular centers

“ When I think of Chadwick’s students, parents, faculty, staff, trustees and alumni, I am reminded of the meaningful and long-term relationships that are formed here.” will develop critical skill sets in our K-12 students through integrated and interdisciplinary learning and hands-on, real-world work. • The Center for Ethical, Global Leadership draws together our outdoor education, global, sustainability and community service opportunities and provides resources and guidance for global citizenship and leadership development in all academic and co-curricular programs K-12. Chadwick students will learn to plan, problem-solve, and make good decisions, as well as learn to motivate and inspire groups to achieve their goals — all with empathy, humility and confidence. • The Center for Innovation and Research draws together interdisciplinary opportunities in research, engineering and entrepreneurship. The center provides resources and guidance in developing students’ critical, creative and collaborative thinking skills, both at Chadwick and beyond. • The Center for Community Wellness draws together the various Chadwick programs that promote and enhance the physical, emotional, intellectual and social wellness of individuals within the Chadwick community. It’s a deliberate effort to promote lifelong healthy habits in body and mind among our students and faculty members.

of more than $1.8 million. Village families achieved 100 percent participation for the third consecutive year, and overall parent giving increased to 92 percent. Alumni participation jumped up to 12 percent from 7 percent the prior year, and dollars increased 15 percent. What’s more, 99 percent of our full-time faculty contributed to the Annual Fund. This robust support from across the community allowed for increased opportunities for all students in academics, athletics, the arts, outdoor education and community service. It also strengthened our school with tuition assistance for outstanding students and helped us keep faculty salaries competitive with peer institutions.

Current and future generations of Chadwick students will benefit greatly from these curricular enhancements, expanding upon our distinctive educational experience encompassing outstanding academics, character education, athletics, global programs, outdoor education, the performing and visual arts, and community service. Investing in the Future As we look ahead, we’re also proud of our commitment to a diverse student population that reflects the multiculturalism of Southern California and the world. Chadwick provided financial aid to 151 students, or 18 percent of our student body in 2017-18, and we intend to do more. The Chadwick family supports each other in a number of ways, and we are very grateful for the donations of time and financial support. Our community set new records in giving during the 2017-18 school year. Annual giving (including Annual Fund and Delphinus Fund) increased by 7 percent over 2016-17, for a total

We are also very grateful to the Tambour Foundation, which donated $3.5 million to enhance financial and tuition assistance and to establish a new endowment fund supporting Chadwick’s ethical, global leadership initiatives. This is the largest single donation in Chadwick’s history, motivated by Chadwick alumni parents Roger and Ruth MacFarlane, who approached the Tambour Foundation on Chadwick’s behalf. Ours is a wonderful family at Chadwick. This is indeed a place where faculty, students and staff “think, do and lead.” I am eager and excited to see what will unfold as we pursue our Mission to develop our next generation of ethical, global citizens who are equipped to lead and thrive in an increasingly diverse and interconnected world. Sincerely,

Jeff Mercer Interim Head of School

na Michels ’19 and Samuel Rivas ’19 were destined to be friends, albeit reluctantly at first. “Our moms are both Mexican, and they bonded over that. They quickly became best friends. By default, Samuel and I started to hang,” Ana said. During her WOW speech on the first day of school, Ana talked about her 13-year friendship with Samuel as her fondest memory from kindergarten. “My mom used to make me hang out with Samuel, and I didn’t want to because he was a boy, and boys are gross. Now, we’re best friends. To this day, I can’t think of a better person my mom could have forced me into a friendship with.” The duo slips easily into witty repartee as they sit next to each other on a Main Lawn bench. “I just think Samuel’s a good person,” Ana says. “At Chadwick, everyone’s a good kid. We have a different type of bond,” Samuel replies. “I am his mom. Samuel is a lot more playful than I am.” 8

“That’s true. Most of the time, she’s bossy.” “Yeah, I am bossy.” The two recall Samuel’s younger years as a rambunctious troublemaker. “Teachers always tell me that she was the only one who could control me,” Samuel says. “They knew if I was getting too crazy, to just grab Ana.” “I would keep him in line,” Ana says with a smile. “We’ve been best friends since,” Samuel adds. “There’s something about Chadwick and there’s something about the community that fosters long-lasting friendships. I’m obviously going to be friends with Samuel forever.” While the two don’t yet know where they’ll end up for college, they do know they plan to visit each other often. In the meantime, while they await the path ahead, they’ll be attached at the hip. “We’re like brother and sister. Our families are hanging out tomorrow for my mom’s birthday,” Ana said.

he performing arts brought them together, and now, Mia Smith ’17, Jesse Allen ’18 and Mia Muoneke ’19 are best friends for life. “We were in the Middle School musical ‘Cats.’ My character needed a fatsuit, and Mia (Muoneke)’s character had a huge coat. We bonded because we were backstage overheating, trying to get our suits off,” Allen said, laughing. He and Smith had been at Chadwick together since kindergarten. The close friendship between the three of them began while singing together in the Jubilee Singers gospel choir. “Jubilee had a unique way of connecting us. The music turned us into a family from the start,” Muoneke said. All three emphasized the unique opportunity at Chadwick to make cross-grade and cross-divisional friendships. “It’s really cool because I’m friends with the kindergartners. And we hang out with the third-graders and teach a lesson in their classrooms. Chadwick makes an effort to make sure students across grades know each other,” Muoneke said. Smith recalled her 12th-grade buddy when she was in the younger grades, someone who made her feel comfortable when she walked around campus. “And in the Upper School, it was nice to be that person for younger students, to be someone they could look up to,” she said. Allen said he was home sick, resting on his couch on Halloween this fall, when some trick-or-treaters knocked on the front-door window, yelling “Jesse! Jesse!” “One of the girls was my kinder buddy when I was in sixth grade, and she remembered me after all this time. Chadwick is such a close-knit community.” “Growing up, I had the expectation that your college friends are the ones you stick with the rest of your life,” Smith said. “But Chadwick is where I found my people. You feel like a family.” “You form more meaningful connections at Chadwick compared to public schools,” Allen added. “I could never live without my two Mias. They’re my best friends in the whole world, and I’m stuck with these two forever.”

iving on “Bachelor Row” is a storied Chadwick tradition. Many of the school’s beloved teachers — including Mark Wiedenmann, Sandy Piercy and Mike Cass — have lived in the one-bedroom apartments connected to the Warnock building after accepting their Chadwick jobs. And one group of ninth-grade teachers built their close friendship around it. English teachers Mark Pangilinan and Sean McGrath and history teacher Cameron Parsons met while living next to each other on “The Row.” “These guys immediately felt like brothers and mentors to me,” Cameron said. “I was a second-year teacher, and I had them next to me, telling me it was going to be OK. I didn’t realize how much I needed these two.” Sean can pinpoint exactly how the bond began — when they decided to go in on Internet service together. “It was, ‘Might you want to go in on Cox together?’ Then, we were united,” Cameron said. English teacher and Chadwick alumna Rosie Levy ’06 is an honorary member of the “Fellowship of the Row” and considers Pangilinan’s apartment “her second home.”

12

“We were instant best friends,” Rosie said. “I was really pushy about it,” Mark joked. Since then, the foursome take camping trips together, meet weekly for happy hours, started a band and attended Sean’s wedding this summer. They continue to expand their circle, too, embracing new teachers and encouraging any and all faculty and staff to join them for get-togethers. “I’ve never liked my co-workers as much as I value and respect my colleagues at Chadwick,” Mark said. “It’s a really welcoming environment. Everyone here really cares about what they do, and it makes you want to be better.” Rosie added that the teachers band together to help one another out and provide mentorship. “All of the teachers here are extremely supportive,” she said. Sean said Chadwick is unique in offering faculty a chance to live where they work. There’s always an event taking place, someone around to take care of you and an opportunity to hang out with a fellow teacher, he said. But at the end of the day, happy hours and trips aside, the teachers’ focus is on the students, Sean said. “Everything we do revolves around the students,” he said. “Everything is centered around how the faculty can be better for student learning and how to make the student experience better. That defines all that we do.”

heir children’s education brought them together, and now a group of Chadwick parents say they’re bonded for life. Friendly conversations and mingling at Chadwick events turned into group vacations and holidays for a crew of Chadwick parents who met at the school. Board of Trustees member and parent Saskia Subramanian and her husband, Marcus Linden, have formed a close bond with fellow Chadwick parents Aarchan Joshi and his wife, Rita Suri; Lionel and Doreen Etrillard; Steve Gautreau and his wife, Kristen VanCott; Ron and Ida Hom; and all of their children. Even a couple of the grandparents are in the circle. The families travel together, gather for potlucks on long holiday weekends, camp in the wilderness and of course, attend and volunteer at Chadwick events together. They’ve gone skiing in Utah, camped on the Channel Islands and attended family science camp on Catalina Island. “They are all warm, kind, intelligent and FUN! I never laugh as much as I do with these folks,” Subramanian said. “The children are wonderful and look out for each other at school and when we are just hanging out.” For years, the dads have biked together every Sunday morning and enjoy conversation at a coffee shop after. “I remember the first picnic when our oldest, Tej, started at Chadwick,” Suri said. “The parents were genuinely warm and welcoming. It’s a small community, so everyone gets to know each other really well.” The Joshis noted that Chadwick offers so many opportunities for parents to bond on campus and off — at coffees, dinners, guest speaker presentations, picnics, volunteer activities, performing and visual arts events, athletic matches and more. “Chadwick does a great job of giving people a chance to come together frequently, regardless of where they live,” Joshi said. While the Core Values are an attractive, unique offering of a Chadwick education for prospective parents, they also provide a powerful bonding element. “Most people elect to send their children to Chadwick because the values resonate with them, which makes for a cohesive and supportive place,” Subramanian said. “It would be easy to dismiss the Core Values as window dressing, but they are the real deal. From the first day the kids arrive on campus, they are clearly introduced to the Core Values, and they pervade the daily life of everyone at the school. It’s pretty amazing.” Joshi agreed: “Chadwick is a community founded on and embodying those values. We have witnessed these values on campus and in their impact on our children since kindergarten. Truly, it’s sculpted their core being. Those values translate to the parent space as well. There’s implicit trust among those we’ve grown to love in this community.” While this group of parents spends much of their time together, they are also close to several other families at Chadwick and are open to uncovering even more friendships through the school. “The biggest gift that Chadwick gave us is the education of our kids. The second is the group of wonderful people we’ve gotten to know. That will transcend the kids’ time at Chadwick,” Joshi said.

FROM THE CHAIR OF THE B OARD

Chadwick School stands out because we have a solid foundation in both exemplary character and outstanding academics. Dear Friends of Chadwick School, As Chair of the 2017-18 Roessler-Chadwick Foundation Board of Trustees, I know I speak for all 24 board members when I say that we have been inspired and privileged to serve as stewards of Chadwick’s Mission to develop global citizens with keen minds, exemplary character, self-knowledge and the ability to lead.

18

The board remains committed to the school’s Mission inside and outside the classroom and to strengthening the strategic plan for Chadwick’s long-term success and financial stability. Our long-term strategic plan emphasizes a world-class educational program, world-class faculty and a diverse community united by a commitment to our Core Values of compassion, fairness, honesty, respect and responsibility. It is with enthusiasm about the future that I reflect on the 2017-18 school year. In our goal to provide a world-class educational program, the board has actively supported Chadwick’s leadership team in the establishment of three new curricular centers: the Center for Innovation and Research, the Center for Global, Ethical Leadership and the Center for Community Wellness. With these curricular initiatives, Chadwick clearly has a great opportunity to develop in our students the necessary 21st century skills for success in college and in their careers. The three new directors hired to lead these curricular centers bring a strong list of credentials and experience along with a “learning by doing” approach that is aligned with Chadwick’s educational philosophies. With their commitment to Chadwick’s Mission and their passion for their work, they join an outstanding team of world-class faculty at Chadwick.

This foundation is enjoying success here in Palos Verdes and also overseas at Chadwick International (CI) in South Korea. At CI, enrollment has grown dramatically from 260 students in K-7 in 2010, to 1,200 students in preK-12 in 2018. Adding to Chadwick’s distinctiveness is our strong community of students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and members of the Board of Trustees. The board plays an important role in our community by taking a look 10-20 years ahead toward long-term success and stability. As we enter a period of leadership transition at Chadwick, the board is establishing more effective ways to guide the school into the future. During the 2017-18 year, we set out to bring greater diversity to the RCF board, and we enhanced collaboration between the senior administration team and trustees. Moving forward, we are leveraging the collective wisdom of our leadership team to serve the best interests of Chadwick for the long-term. This was my first year serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees, and it was deeply fulfilling on many levels. I’m inspired by my fellow board members’ commitment to Chadwick, and their willingness to roll up their sleeves and contribute significantly to Chadwick’s future. I’m also deeply inspired by our Chadwick graduates who are taking their knowledge, experiences and Core Values into the broader world.

Giving Chadwick, the family you choose to support.

RECO GNIZING ANNUAL GIVING

All gifts to Chadwick School are greatly appreciated. Because Annual Giving contributions support Chadwick’s current operations and highest priority needs each year, special recognition is afforded to donors who directly support Chadwick’s Annual Fund or Delphinus Operating Fund for Financial Aid, or who make restricted annual gifts to current operations. Recognition levels are determined by the total dollar amount of gifts, including employer matching gifts. Contributions to sponsor or underwrite events or to support parent organizations are not direct contributions to current operations and therefore are not included in Annual Giving recognition. Such contributions are recognized separately at the events or by the parent organizations. Gifts to endowed funds, including the general endowment, support the long-term growth of the school rather than current operations and are honored separately as well. In addition, this list celebrates consecutive years of giving by individuals. It is a testament to the loyalty and commitment of the Chadwick community that so many consistently support the school over multiple years. As with all our efforts to thank and recognize donors, every attempt has been made to ensure the accuracy of our information. If your records differ from ours, please contact the Development Office so we may update our files. Contributions from donors recognized here represent more than $2.67 million in Annual Giving to Chadwick in 2017-18. We are deeply grateful to all members of the Chadwick community who include Annual Giving to Chadwick in their philanthropic plans each year. Thank you!

TOTAL GIVING TO THE ANNUAL FUND:

$1.85 Million All monies raised through the Chadwick Annual Fund are used to support the operating budget in the same academic year in which they are given. Thanks to the generosity of Annual Fund donors, Chadwick students enjoy enhanced opportunities in all areas of campus life and learning. We thank the following 2017-18 Annual Fund donors for their commitment to making every academic and co-curricular program at Chadwick 100 percent outstanding for our students.

ANNUAL FUND VOLUNTEERS Chadwick relies on a committed group of volunteers to reach out to members of our community for their support of the Annual Fund. These volunteers write letters, make phone calls and assist with planning to help raise funds to support Chadwick’s students, faculty and programs. We are deeply grateful for their hard work, leadership and gifts of time to the school. A N N UA L F U N D V O L U N T E E R S 2 0 1 7 - 1 8

$31,958,541

Endowment funds are financial assets that generate income through effective investment of the principal. Portions of this income are used to relieve the operating budget, and, when substantial enough, to help minimize tuition increases. Contributions may be made to existing funds, or new funds may be established through major gifts. Endowment funds are frequently established to honor or remember someone of significance to the school. We are especially grateful to those donors who have established the endowment funds that provide security for our future.

FRANCES J. AND FRANK L. JOHNSON LEGACY SOCIETY Many people have already made the decision to include Chadwick School in their family’s estate plans. Why? For some, it’s the lifelong memories built while spending time on the Chadwick campus. For others, it’s the desire to ensure that the Chadwick legacy remains strong for future generations. Regardless of the reason, the benefits of making a planned gift and thereby joining the Johnson Legacy Society remain the same: a strong financial future for Chadwick and significant tax benefits for the donor and his or her family.

Preparing Global Citizens A FA M I L Y ’ S E F F O R T T O G I V E B A C K A N D L O O K F O R WA R D

Karin and Robert Fuire have first-hand experience in the evolution of our global society. Both have worked abroad, and Robert’s consultancy work includes several global clients. As their daughter, Elizabeth, entered preschool, the Fuires began exploring school options. The local public schools felt too large, and, through friends, they were aware of Chadwick’s high-quality reputation. They enrolled Elizabeth for her kindergarten year, and she has loved Chadwick from day one. In fact, Karin remembers “the big smile on Elizabeth’s face as she boarded the bus on her first day of school!” Karin and Robert appreciate the small, tight-knit community at Chadwick as well as the diversity of offerings provided by the school. For Karin, she wanted to be a very involved volunteer and, through the years, Chadwick has benefited from her leadership and generosity. Her volunteer journey began with Friends of the Library while Elizabeth was in the Village School. That led to running the Book Fair two years in a row and two separate tenures as Friends of the Library President. Karin also served as a Chadwick Parents Association Room Parent, a Middle School parent representative, the CPA Historian and the organizer of the annual CPA Spring Event. In the fifth grade, Elizabeth discovered her passion for performing, and Karin turned her volunteer leadership to the Limelighters, where she serves as

President for the 2018-19 academic year. Elizabeth has appeared in several Chadwick musicals, including “Xanadu,” “Shrek the Musical, Jr.” and “Peter Pan.” She also had the role of Anton/Storyteller in the 2018 high-school premiere of “A Monster Calls” and is part of the Spring 2019 Upper School musical, “Mamma Mia.” Because of Chadwick’s many offerings, Elizabeth is a comfortable and confident traveler. Over the years, she developed key strengths and skills through the Outdoor Education program and looks forward to the three-week backpacking expedition in her senior year. In addition, as a seventh-grader, she participated in the Junior Model United Nations conference in Hong Kong, which also included a short excursion to Chadwick International in Songdo, South Korea. The Fuires have also given back to the global community by hosting exchange students from Germany and Spain. The Fuires said the school has played a big part in shaping Elizabeth into the person she is today. In particular, Chadwick’s faculty and advisors have always been there for Elizabeth and her family. Once the Fuires saw how much they, as a family, received from Chadwick, adding Chadwick to their estate plans seemed like an excellent way to carry on their connection to the school. According to Karin, “It is important for us to help continue Chadwick’s excellent program for future generations to enjoy.”

Ninth Annual Chadwick School Golf Tournament The Ninth Annual Chadwick School Golf Tournament was a resounding success! We were delighted to welcome more than 150 guests including our 134 golfers — comprised of Chadwick students, parents, alumni, past parents and friends — for a wonderful day of sport, friendship and community. In addition, the event raised over $100,000, including $81,000 in support of a redesign and refurbishment of the Leavenworth Library Learning Center, at the tournament’s “Fund-a-Need” live auction. Finally, we would like to thank this year’s tournament co-chairs, Trent Westernoff and Matt Wilson, and the following golf committee members for their dedicated leadership that made the event such a wonderful success!

With Gratitude to Chadwick Alumni for Outstanding Support in 2017-18 In a 1962 letter to alumni, Chadwick School’s founder Margaret Lee Chadwick wrote: “Each of you has left an indelible imprint upon the school. You have been a part of the sound, healthy growth of Chadwick. And upon you rests the future of Chadwick.” Some 56 years later, these words still ring true, and we are forever grateful to our alumni for taking them to heart. In 2017-18, we saw a terrific surge in alumni giving, with participation increasing from 7 percent to 12 percent participation. We were especially excited to welcome 87 first-time alumni donors this year. In addition, dollars raised from alumni donors are up 15 percent! Much of our alumni support this year came in response to Chadwick’s first-ever Alumni Day of Giving. Alumni truly answered the call on this day and helped earn a challenge gift of $5,000 to support financial aid. All alumni giving is directed through the Annual Fund to the Delphinus Operating Fund for Financial Aid, unless otherwise specified by the donor. We are extremely grateful to our alumni whose giving ensures that the Chadwick experience remains consistently exceptional for every student in every year. Thank you for being #allinforchadwick!

Chadwick parent volunteers are an irreplaceable part of the school’s daily life. On any given day, members can be found on campus, whether working in Leavenworth Library, transporting community service student volunteers, leading Spirit Day celebrations, planning events or cheering on student actors and musicians. They also support the school financially through their many successful fundraising events and programs. Thank you to all of our Chadwick Parents Association, Friends of the Library, Dolphin Booster Club and Limelighters members for all you do to create a welcoming and dynamic experience for our students and families.

Chadwick Parents Association 2017-18 The Chadwick Parents Association (CPA) is an organization made up of all parents of Chadwick students. Its purpose is, broadly, to support the school and the school community. The CPA coordinates Village Room Parents and Middle and Upper School Parent Representatives, supports parents and families by helping parents become better acquainted, raises funds to support school programs, and helps foster and improve communications between parents and the school. The CPA organizes myriad events and activities throughout the grade levels and the school. Numerous volunteers donate thousands of hours to enhance the Chadwick experience for all students through the CPA.

72

Thanks to their fundraising efforts, the CPA donated $265,000 to Chadwick in 2017-18. These funds were given to support a major redesign and refurbishment of Chadwick’s Leavenworth Library Learning Center. We are truly appreciative of the Chadwick Parents Association for this and all the ways it strengthens our school community.

Chadwick Booster Club 2017-18 The Booster Club’s purpose is to support and promote the athletic objectives and programs of Chadwick School, including sports teams in the Middle and Upper Schools and physical education in the Village School. Throughout the year, the Booster Club promotes attendance at all sporting events, recruits sports representatives for every team, organizes “spirit days,” sells spirit wear, and hosts the annual Chili Cook-off. In addition to raising school spirit, the Booster Club also raises funds to support Chadwick’s athletic programs. This year, the Booster Club gave over $6,000 in gifts to the Athletic Department. They provided the funds for a customized mat outside Pascoe Pavilion to protect the gym floor, and contributed to the purchase of a new and improved Chadwick Dolphin Mascot suit. In addition, the Booster Club provided funds for two All School Spirit Days, Spirit Days for every Upper School sport, three Middle School Spirit Days, a smoothie station for the Village School students, and an Athletic Open House. Chadwick School gratefully acknowledges the Booster Club for its tireless work on behalf of school athletics and team sports. C HA DW IC K D OL PH I N B O O ST E R C LU B B OARD OF DIRECTORS 2017-18

Friends of the Library 2017-18 Friends of the Library (FOL) seeks to enhance the education of all Chadwick students by funding the library’s programs and augmenting library and teacher resources. In addition to providing financial resources, FOL members sponsor visiting authors and illustrators, manage the school wide “Book Talk” programs, organize and manage the Village School PALs library volunteers program, work with the Community Service program on literacy projects and organize the keenly anticipated Chadwick Book Fair each year. They give countless volunteer hours each year to support and enhance library and literacy programs in Grades K-12. In 2017-18, the Friends of the Library funded supplemental instructional materials for classrooms, provided reading copies of books for book clubs, added volumes to library collections and funded FOL’s outstanding visiting author series. In addition, FOL partnered with the CPA and Golf Tournament Committee to fund significant refurbishment and upgrades to the Middle and Upper School areas of the Leavenworth Library Learning Center.
