message from the PRESIDENT
Holiday greetings from your friends at the Community Foundation!
At CFES, we have enjoyed a busy fall highlighted by our Annual Meeting in November. I hope you had an opportunity to attend but if not, the event was recorded by PAC14 and is available on our website. A copy of the Annual Report is also available online, or we are happy to mail one to you upon request. We recently welcomed six new members to the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Morgan Hazel, Velda Henry, Todd Hershey, Jim Jones, Dr. Annette Wallace and Dr. George Whitehead bring a wealth of experience and perspective to CFES and we appreciate their dedication of time and talent. Like many of our partner nonprofit organizations, fall is known as the Giving Season. This year, we are pleased to have worked with nearly 60 local nonprofits for our 2nd Annual Shore Gives More Giving Tuesday Campaign, which raised $88,000. The needs of our community are great and there is always more we can do to connect people who care to causes that matter. As you and your family consider gifts to those causes that matter to you, I ask that you consider the impact of local nonprofits. CFES is a willing and able partner to assist you in maximizing your charitable giving throughout the year. Donor Advised Funds, IRA Charitable Distribution, and Endow Maryland are just a few examples of giving opportunities through CFES that make the most of your gift and may provide additional tax benefits for you. We hope this season is one of celebration and reflection as you spend time with family and friends!
