1,800 people receiving employment services through the Center’s programs

The Community Foundation and Des Moines Area Community College led the creation of the Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families. The Center provides an integrated program of services, including direct job placement assistance, career enhancement programs, social, family and workforce support services and training. Community leaders, neighborhood residents and local businesses are working together to create change, improve quality of life and facilitate significant impact in Des Moines’ urban core. “The Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families takes people from wherever they are, often unemployed or facing some barrier to employment, right into the workforce, giving them a real chance to improve their lives. The Community Foundation was key to bringing this dream of a much needed employment center in the heart of Des Moines to reality. They convened key stakeholders and donors to make this project possible.” Rob Denson President Des Moines Area Community College
