Sacred Music, Sacred Dance Lectures and Workshops

Explore the connections among Tibetan meditative practices, art forms and culture. All programs are led by Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi, who was chosen at age 14 to study at the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics, the private school of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Unless otherwise stated, the activities will be held in the Lane University Center’s Atkinson Room. All events are free and open to the public.

Lecture Symbolism of the Sand Mandala SUNDAY, MARCH 5 | 5 PM Learn more about this sacred cosmogram and its use as an object of contemplation. Approximately 1 hour

Lecture Opening the Heart: Arousing the Mind of Universal Kindness MONDAY, MARCH 6 | NOON Love and kindness are mental archetypes that all beings possess. The more we strengthen them, the more beneficial we become to others and ourselves. Approximately 1 hour

Location TBA Community members and people of all faiths are invited for a thought-provoking discussion accompanied by dinner. Attendees will meet the monks’ spiritual director, Geshe Lobsang Tenzin Negi, and learn about the conscious development of health and stability.

Experience meditation practices to quiet the mind and achieve inner clarity and well-being. Approximately 90 minutes
