ABOUT US The Sila M. Calderón Foundation is a private nonprofit and non-partisan organization, founded by former Governor Sila M. Calderón,who along with members of its Board of Directors and collaborators have an extensive experience in community and economic development initiatives. At the Centro para Puerto Rico we work on reducing poverty and inequality based on self-management principles which promote entrepreneurial initiatives and community empowerment capable of supporting the sustainable economic development of Puerto Rico. For years we have helped communities and entrepreneurs develop their paths for prosperity creating more than 500 new businesses and near 1000 new jobs.
OUR VISION is to promote an integrated and productive society in Puerto Rico centered in ethical values and social responsibility resulting in a better quality of life by fostering understanding, respect and greater opportunities for all. OUR MISSION is to reduce poverty, inequality and advance women’s role in society by promoting initiatives of economic, social and urban development that foster individuals’ capacity building and transformation.
