The Keller Central High School Chamber Women THE KELLER CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL CHAMBER WOMEN ARE ONE OF EIGHT CONCERT CHOIRS AND TWO SHOW CHOIRS AT CHS. Since its inception, this ensemble has received consistent UIL Sweepstakes Awards. In 2021, the choir was named the winner of the inaugural “America’s Got Choirs” contest and in 2022 was awarded “Best Live Performance” by the judges in that competition. In the spring of 2022, they were honored to perform in concert at Baylor University alongside that university’s Bella Voce women’s ensemble. The ensemble was named “Outstanding Treble Choir” in both 2022 and 2023 at the prestigious Festival Di Voce choral competition and in 2023, the Chamber Women were named “Reserve Grand Champion” at Festival di Voce as well. Most recently, the ensemble was named a National Winner in the 2023 Mark of Excellence/National Choral Honors project sponsored by The Foundation for Music Education.

The piano teapot and conducting baton pictured represent the two people whose influence on my life as a musician is limitless. Growing up in a home where music was the constant rather than the exception brought me to this point in my life. My mom, Wilma Thiele Dorsey, was one of the most talented pianists, vocalists, and music teachers I have ever known and her accomplishments are too many to mention. My father, Harold Dorsey, a former band director turned high school principal and church music director could make even music history fun! I have felt their presence in every step of this journey and today I am conducting with that baton and wearing my mother’s wedding ring. I could not love or miss them more!

Leigh Ann McClure HEAD DIRECTOR

The child of two music educators, Leigh Ann McClure has been the Head Director of the Central High School Choral Music Department in Keller ISD for 17 years. The CHS Choral Department consists of over 300 students, 3 directors, eight concert choirs, and two show choirs. Ms. McClure previously taught in the Arlington, Cleburne, and Alvarado ISDs. She received the BME degree from Baylor University and MME from The University of North Texas.

In addition to having numerous TMEA All-State Choir members, she teaches several all-state camps each year and is an active adjudicator, clinician, and honor choir conductor.

Ms. McClure has served the Texas Choral Directors’ Association as Secretary; the Texas Music Educators’ Association Vocal Division as Region Secretary, MS/JHS Region Coordinator, Region and Area Chair, 2012 and 2013 All-State Women’s Choir Organizer, and is currently Area B Division Mentorship Chair; and the Texas Music Adjudicators’ Association as Vocal Vice-President. In 2013, she was a recipient of The University Interscholastic League “Sponsor of Excellence” award.

In addition to directing this ensemble, she also conducts the Chamber Singers Mixed Choir, Scarlet Singers treble choir, and is the co-director of the Voices of Central Show Choir.

In her spare time she enjoys playing golf, traveling, and spending time with her adult children and their spouses as well as her four adorable grandsons. She also enjoys singing and playing handbells at Keller United Methodist Church, where her rock, Carl Lorey, is Director of Music and Worship.

I would not be standing on this stage without the influence of several individuals: •

The impact of my college oboe teacher at Baylor University, Dr. Doris DeLoach, whose impact on me as a musician was immeasurable. She taught me so many things about being musical that I use in my choral rehearsals every day.

Pam Elam was not only the choral director of all three McClure children at Cleburne High School, she also taught this former band director how to become a choral musician. Today her students (including my son!) are singing on stages and teaching in schools and colleges all over the United States. I can never thank her enough for the impact she has had on my career.

Dr. Jerry and Julie McCoy each taught me so much about choral music and vocal pedagogy. Singing in the Fort Worth Chorale under Jerry’s leadership was comparable to a weekly professional development workshop. In addition, sitting next to Julie in that ensemble helped me become a better vocal model and pedagogue for my students. In addition, I am incredibly indebted to each for the times they have spent with our CHS ensembles. Their mark on me and my students is indelible and my gratitude sincere.

Nicholas Chabot ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

Nicholas Chabot is in his 8th year as an Associate Choral Director at Central High School. Mr. Chabot has been so fortunate to spend the entirety of his teaching career with the Central Singers. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!), under the direction of Maestro, Z. Randall Stroope. Mr. Chabot has been honored to help students earn and receive numerous musical accolades, but even more so, cherishes being a part of their journey of self-discovery and growth as humans. He would sincerely like to thank Leigh Ann, Casey, and the full Central Singers family for being teammates that embrace him just as he is, and with loving hearts.

To our friends performing today: we are so proud of you all. We love you dearly and joining you on this journey has been such an honor. Get your C’s up and Go Chargers!

Casey LeVie

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR Casey LeVie received her Bachelor of Music Education in Choral Music from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. There she studied choral music education with Dr. Lynne Gackle and Dr. Michele Henry, and studied voice under Dr. Deborah Williamson and Dr. Randy Umstead. She performed with Baylor Bella Voce at the 2018 Southwestern American Choral Directors Association Conference and was consistently a featured soloist with this ensemble. While in Waco, she also served as the collaborative pianist and student intern for the Youth Chorus of Central Texas under the direction and mentorship of Florence Scattergood.

Prior to her arrival at Central, Ms. LeVie was the Assistant Choir Director at Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas. During her time at Duncanville, she served as the collaborative pianist for the A Cappella Men’s Choir 2021 ACDA National Conference performance and the A Cappella Choir’s 2020 TMEA General Session performance, “It Starts with Music.”

Ms. LeVie is in her 3rd year as an Associate Choir Director at Central High School and returned to Central after completing her student teaching there in the spring of 2019. At Central, Ms. LeVie directs the Sub-Non-Varsity Treble Choir, the Non-Varsity Tenor-Bass Choir, the Non-Varsity Show Choir, Voltage, and assists with Musical Theatre classes. When she’s not teaching, Ms. LeVie enjoys spending time training with her German Shepherd Benny and watching the latest action movies.

Ms. LeVie wishes to express her deepest gratitude and admiration for her colleagues, Leigh Ann McClure and Nick Chabot, for all of the work they have done in preparation for today, seen and unseen. She wants the singers of Chamber Women to know that she is so incredibly proud of their passion, commitment, and hard work as they perform music that will touch their audience in the moment and inspire them for the future. Their music, their drive, and their love for each other has forever changed the life of their director, Ms. McClure, and I know will be deeply rooted in her heart for all of the years to come.

Sarah Jones

COLLABORATIVE ACCOMPANIST Sarah Jones serves as Director of Worship and Events at University Baptist Church, Fort Worth. She was born in Abilene, Texas into a family and community who fostered her love of music. She is thankful to educators like Robin Dent, Barbara Perkins, Wendy Weeks, Nancy Jones, Dr. Bob Brooks and Dr. Loyd Hawthorne for enouraging her at a young age to accompany choirs and expand her gifts into a career.

Sarah graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a B.B.A. in Management and a minor in Music. She has served on the School of Music Foundation and Alumni Association Board of Directors at HSU. As part of her church position, she enjoys leading and arranging music for worship, directing the choir, and most recently writing original musicals. In addition to her church role, Sarah enjoys collaborating with choirs in the DFW area and considers it an honor to work with such inspirational choral directors. She is especially grateful for the opportunity to have partnered with the choirs at Keller Central since 2016.

Sarah resides in Burleson, TX with her favorite sidekicks, her dogs Dakota and Colt. When she’s not traveling to the mountains her greatest joy is spending time with her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephew who live close by.

Chrystle Hicks VOCAL INSTRUCTOR

Chrystle Hicks, mezzo-soprano, hails from Fort Worth, TX and holds a BM Vocal Performance degree from Baylor University. She studied voice with Dr. Randall Umstead and prides herself on being a versatile singer with a velvety rich tone. She has been a chorus member with the Dallas and Fort Worth opera companies and is a frequent soloist in the DFW metroplex. In Chrystle’s 10 years of teaching voice lessons at Central High School, her students have appeared in leading musical roles, participated in the Schmidt Vocal Competition, and Young Artist Singing Competitions. Chrystle Hicks is also a graduate of the 2010 Central High School class where she was a member of the Chamber and Treble ensembles directed by Leigh Ann McClure.

Renée Hunt

VOCAL INSTRUCTOR Renée Hunt has over twenty years of experience as an accomplished Soprano and educator. She holds a Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Miami School of Music and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from the worldrenowned Eastman School of Music. She has performed as a soloist in performances of opera, recital, oratorio, and musical theater.

Rooted with a solid foundation of world-class musical training and complemented by years of instruction in wide genre of performance arts, Renée is uniquely prepared to mentor and guide students as they discover and nurture their talent and potential. Her training inspires her students to craft truly exceptional performances and gives them an edge to reach their highest potential. Renée brings valuable experience from the many years of vocal training she received from some of the most revered teachers in the world to her teaching. Her students will attest to her infectious positive energy, extraordinary ear for all musical genres and her intuitive ability to communicate the healthiest, most highly effective vocal techniques in the industry. Many of her students have pursued their vocal studies at prestigious music conservatories, including: The Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt, University of Miami Frost School of Music, Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, Oberlin College, Carnegie Mellon University, Eastman School of Music and Brigham Young University School of Music, Palm Beach Atlantic University as well as trained singers who went on to The Voice and the Miss America pageant.

Renée’s teaching has been recognized by the Florida Music Educators Association for having the most Outstanding Student Performances at district and state-level competitions and the Florida State Thespians Society for having several students win the coveted Cappie award for Best Student Vocal Performance. A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) she is often called upon to coach and mentor young, aspiring singers.

Renée is the owner of Master Voice Coaching with Renée voice studio which serves students from Dallas, TX as well as Skype/Facetime students and professionals from all over the United States.

Sarah Powell

VOCAL INSTRUCTOR Sarah Powell has over 15 years of experience as a voice instructor and arts educator. She currently maintains a private voice studio in addition to her work as a Teaching Artist with Broadway Dallas and Casa Mañana Studios. Sarah is also Executive Producer of SheDFW, a branch of SheNYC Arts.

Theater has been her passion for many (we don’t need to say the exact number) years, and she has appeared on the stages of many metroplex theaters, including Casa Mañana, Lyric Stage, Uptown Players. Favorite roles include Bea Bottom in Something Rotten, Margaret in The Light in the Piazza, Ilona in She Loves Me and Lilli/Kate in Kiss Me, Kate. Hands down number one best ever role is being mama to Sophie (Abigail!) and Mason!

Emily Burak VIOLIN

Emily Burak is a highly accomplished and versatile violinist with over 20 years of experience in the music industry. She began her musical journey at the age of 3 and went on to make the Texas All-State Orchestra every year during high school. Emily holds a violin performance degree from the University of North Texas and has performed with symphonies in Austria, the Czech Republic, and Prague.

With over 100 million views on YouTube alongside pianist and composer Joslin D'Souza, Emily has gained widespread recognition for her exceptional talent and skill. She has shared the stage with renowned artists including Stevie Wonder, Michael Buble, The Eagles, Andrea Bocelli, Dierks Bentley, The Who, and Weird Al Yankovic. Furthermore, Emily continues to be a featured soloist with professional symphony orchestras, captivating audiences with her emotive performances.

Anne Bonne3, Violin:

Dr. Anne Bonne\ has been the violin since the age ofstring five. As an acclaimed classical Emily Burak is the founder of "Emily Burak Music," a company that specializes inplaying offering worldclass violinist, she has appeared with many professional orchestras and won several concerto services for any occasion. From solo violin to duo, trio and quartet ensembles andholds even violin with piano compe>>ons.

Sabrina Mackenzie VIOLA

Sabrina Mackenzie, violist, holds a Master's in Music Performance arran, Cello: from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. While at UIUC she studied with Elizabeth Freivogel, violist of the acclaimed Jupiter e Albarran is a professional cellist from Dallas, Texas. Albarran started playing cello Quartet, and also extensivethechamber was 4 years oldString after her parents introduced herreceived to music. Throughout years she music training und the US learning as much as she could, as well as picking a few extra from the quartet.

Sabrina earned herupundergraduate performance along the way like the piano and the French horn. Albarran earned her education degree the of North Texas a student of Susan Dubois. Alyson Albarran CELLO

Alyson Marie Albarran is a professional cellist from Dallas, Texas.

Albarran started playing cello when she was 4 years old after her parents introduced her to music. Throughout the years she traveled around the US learning as much as she could, as well as picking up a few extra instruments along the way like the piano and the French horn. Albarran earned her education from SMU where she studied under Andres Diaz and earned both her BM and PD in cello performance. These days she travels around DFW both as a performer and an educator. She currently teaches private lessons at the Dallas Suzuki Academy and various schools in Richardson ISD. With over two decades of education and experience, Albarran’s passion is to spread joy to people everywhere through her cello, whether that be in the studio teaching or on the stage performing.

Ashley Coffman

HEAD DIRECTOR PARKWOOD HILL INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL Ashley Coffman is currently the Music and Choir Director at Parkwood Hill Intermediate School in Keller ISD. Prior to teaching in KISD, Mrs. Coffman taught 6th through 8th grade choir in Fort Worth ISD. Mrs. Coffman graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington. Mrs. Coffman currently serves as a worship coach at her church in Saginaw.

Monica Jimenez

HEAD DIRECTOR HILLWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL Monica Jimenez is the head director at Hillwood Middle School in Keller ISD. She graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education - Vocal Concentration in 2017. She was involved in Mu Phi Epsilon at her time at TCU. Ms. Jimenez was lucky enough to begin her teaching career with Mrs. Coke during student teaching and was her associate director for the past 4 years, and now is blessed to be the Head Director this year! Prior to teaching at HMS, she had been the assistant at many school districts before such as Eagle-Mountain Saginaw ISD, Plano ISD, and Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. She also works as a professional singer/section leader and teaches the Children’s Choir at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst.

This is Mrs. Jimenez’s 5th year at Hillwood Middle School, and 6th year teaching. She is involved and actively attends TMEA and TCDA on a yearly basis. She loves the color purple, iced coffee, scary movies and spending time with friends, family, and especially her rescue cat, Sophie.

David Burney

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR HILLWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL Mr. Burney is in his first year as the Associate Choir Director at Hillwood Middle School in Keller ISD. He graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Oklahoma in 2009 and with his Master’s Degree from The University of New Mexico in 2011. He has been teaching for 7 years, previously working as an elementary music specialist in Dallas and Garland ISD’s and an Intermediate Choir Director/Music Specialist in Duncanville ISD. Mr. Burney is an accomplished clarinetist as well as a sought after Bass singer in the DFW Metroplex. He regularly performs with the Turtle Creek Chorale Men’s Chorus and Brothers in Song Chamber Ensemble where he gets to showcase these talents.

Mr. Burney holds memberships in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity, the Texas Choral Director’s Association, the Texas Music Educator’s Association and the International Clarinet Association.

It is with immense pride and excitement that Central High School’s Chamber Women Choir represents North Texas and Keller Independent School District at the annual Texas Music Educators Association Convention. Under the leadership of choral director, Leigh Ann McClure and associate directors, Nicholas Chabot and Casey LeVie, our students are privileged to be one of twelve high school choirs selected to perform.

The Chamber Women’s Choir is one of eight concert choirs and two show choirs at Central High School. Our motto at Central High School is Character-Honor-Service and our choral students embody all this entails. This recognition is a testament to the tireless dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment of our talented musicians. This choir has received numerous awards which include: the 2021 winner of America’s Got Choirs, 2022 Best Live Performance by the judges of that competition, 2022 and 2023 Outstanding Treble Choir at the prestigious Festival Di Voce choral competition, and 2023 National Winner in the Mark of Excellence/National Choral Honors Project. Our ensemble has honed its skills and their dedication to the craft has paid off in the most remarkable way.

Our singers not only showcase outstanding choral skills but also demonstrate a profound understanding of the expressive and artistic aspects of choral performance. Their performances represent what Central High School and Keller Independent School District strive to achieve in our educational environment: Be Intentionally Exceptional.
