CGTC’s Lisa Stephens Wins SkillsUSA State President

Central Georgia Technical College Radiology Technology student Lisa Stephens was recently elected as the SkillsUSAPost-Secondary State President at the SkillsUSAState Competition held in Atlanta. Stephens is the first state officer for CGTC. Stephens is currently in KanasCity, Kan., representing CGTCand SkillsUSAof Georgia at the National SkillsUSACompetition. After working in retail for a number of years, she decided to start a new career, which led her to the Radiology Technology program. “Being a single mother of two, I needed more stability,” Stephens stated. In Stephen’s leadership role, she will advocate for SkillsUSAand technical education. Stephens stated that, “The American public needs to learn about the need for skilled workers and how they're educated. SkillsUSAhelps to put technical education in a more positive light.” About SkillsUSA SkillsUSAis an applied method of instruction for preparing America’s high performance workers in public careers and technical programs.
