DARKROOM MAGIC

SUN PRINTS

Embrace the shadows this winter with some Darkroom Magic. This workshop is designed for children aged 6 to 12 years and lets them step inside their very own darkroom. They will experiment making photograms, which are a type of photographic print that uses the analogue method. When objects are placed directly onto the photographic paper, their impression is captured when exposed to light.

Chase the light this winter with some Sun Print Magic. This workshop is designed for children aged 3 to 6 years and explores the art of photography. Sun Prints are simple photographic prints that are made by placing objects onto photo sensitive paper. When they are exposed to direct sunlight, they come to life in a vibrant blue colour. The workshop involves no chemicals and parents are welcome to participate.

OUTDOOR EXHIBITION

ALLEGORIC PORTRAITURE

The Exposure 2019 Outdoor Exhibition showcases the art of photography. Ten amateur and emerging photographers were especially invited to exhibit works to the public. Each has demonstrated a unique ability to tell a story through their image and reveal the true art of photography. All are welcome to view the exhibition and entry is free.

Creative students from three local high schools were mentored by professional photographers to explore contemporary styles of photography. They learnt the skills of allegoric portraiture and social documentary to express their sense of self. These voices will become stronger as they get older and become cornerstones of our community. A collection of their best images will be showcased in a public art installation.
