Newsletter Submission Deadline If you, or your group, would like to place an article, meeting time, thank you note, etc. in the newsletter, please remember to submit to the office by the 20th of the prior month. Submissions received after the 20th will not be included in the upcoming month’s newsletter. Thank you for your cooperation!

Recently, we have reduced the total number of Elders elected so that we have five to seven Elders on the board each year. Currently, Elders serve a one-year term and can be re-elected each year. Deacons are elected for a three-year term and can be re-elected for successive terms.

The primary functions of the Elders is to be part of the Church Board, have spiritual oversight over the congregation, guard the doctrinal teaching of the church, handle any disciplinary matters that might arise, be available to give biblical counsel to individuals within the congregation who may ask for it, and serve as shepherds of the congregation. Deacons are also part of the Church Board. On Sunday mornings they serve on a rotating basis to oversee the collection of offerings and the passing of the communion trays. They also serve on a rotating basis as the security person on Sundays and Wednesdays. Trustees currently serve to handle legal matters for the church as the need may arise and as instructed by the Elders. Please be sure to pick up a ballot to nominate men that you feel would serve well in these positions, considering the qualifications below. Ricky Tallman, as Chairman of the Board, is also chairman of the Nominating Committee. Ballots should be turned in to him or placed in the nomination box at the Welcome Center. Please prayerfully consider and nominate members of our church to fill these positions. Love, Grace, & Peace,

After several months of planning, we are excited to announce one of our newest church events called Central Q&A. We have recently been developing a plan to help people get more acclimated with Central. We plan to roll the entire process out as we move forward. However, Step 1 of this process is ready to go. We will host our first Central Q&A on Sunday, October 27, at 12:15 PM in the fellowship hall. What is Central Q&A? At its root, Central Q&A is a short, informational meeting in which visitors who are fairly new to the church have an opportunity to learn more about Central and ask any questions you may have. For many of us who are more familiar with Central, we already know quite a bit about the different ministries, classes, services, and programs that Central has to offer. This class presents those new to Central a chance to get a better understanding of our church and its purpose.

Who can attend Central Q&A? The short answer is… anyone. If you would like to know more about what we believe, why we exist, or if you just want to meet some of the staff, this is the place for you. This brief meeting is mostly targeted at those who have been visiting for less than a year. Don’t worry, if it’s been over a year, you’re welcome as well. Our goal is to help those who want to know more about Central. How long will Central Q&A last? We want to get you out of here in 30 minutes or less. We will provide everything you need including some snacks and refreshments to hold you over until lunch. We will have a brief presentation including the basic information about Central and then we will open it up for questions.

Until next time, Kris

Visiting a new church can be difficult. We hope this class makes that process a little easier. Our primary goal is to get to know you a little better and give you an opportunity to ask some of the things that are on your mind. We hope to share who we are so you will be able to determine if Central is a place you want to call home. We hope to see you there!
