TRANSFORMED. That is our theme this year at CCC. It is based on Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Transformation begins in the mind and works its way to the heart. It starts with a real love for God and faith in Jesus Christ. When we make a commitment to Christ, the Bible says we receive the Holy Spirit to dwell inside us. This Spirit helps us to grow spiritually and to know God’s will. The real transformation happens when we seek to know Christ and build a relationship with Him. When that happens, we become more “in tune” with Jesus, or to put it in modern terms we can be more “in sync” with Jesus. The word “sync” comes from the word “synchronize.” It basically means for two things to work together in harmony with one another. The Ford Fusion that my daughter Katelyn drives has a built in computer system called SYNC. This system enables your smart phone to work with your car so you can make and receive handsfree calls, play music from your phone through the car radio, and many other applications. When we are “in sync” with Jesus, we become more aware of what He is doing in the world and what He wants to do in and through us. The more we are in sync with Jesus, the better our lives will be and the more we will realize the blessings God wants to share with us. In short, I am trying to say, Spiritual growth leads to our lives being transformed and that happens the more we are in sync with Christ. We are beginning a sermon series called “IN SYNC.” Basically through this series we will learn how to be in sync with Christ through the Word, the Holy Spirit, other people in the church, and through prayer. By doing this we can walk more fully through this life as Jesus did. It is all part of the amazing transformation process that Christ wants to take place in your life. Christ said He came that they (believers) may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10). Be sure to join us on Sunday mornings, beginning April 28, for this intriguing series exploring how we can live a life “IN SYNC” with Jesus Christ. This will help take us another step toward the TRANSFORMED life that He wants for us all. Love, Grace, & Peace,

Pastor Mark

What an Easter it was…

As I sit here and write this article, I can’t help but sit back and think about how amazing Easter at Central was this year. I want to thank all of you who played such a vital role in making our special Easter services truly fantastic. I’ve heard great comments about Easter Family Fun Night, Good Friday Hillside, and Easter Sunday! If you missed any of our Easter services, I would highly encourage you to go back and watch them.

On Friday night, our guest speaker Micah Magee absolutely brought the house down with his Good Friday message. If you were at the service, there’s only one word that can sum it up: TETELESTAI. Micah did an excellent job breaking down the text and helping us understand what Jesus’ final words on the cross mean for us. Another moment you might have missed Friday night was the lantern parade toward the end of the service. The kids did an excellent job creating their lanterns! What an awesome way to end our service as we focused on how light overcomes darkness! As great as Friday was, we all knew that Sunday was a-comin’! We celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ with a packed house. The choir did a phenomenal job with its two choral pieces and the worship from the band was excellent! The name of Jesus was glorified! Also, thanks to Matt Mangrum for taking family pictures after services. You can view those photos on our Facebook page. Again, I’d like to say thanks to each and every person that made Easter so special. Whether its working the sound booth, putting in hard work on music, serving communion, running security or Welcome Center, teaching a class, or one of the many other vital roles, it took EVERYONE to make Easter at Central such a successful time. Thank you, thank you, thank you! TETELESTAI! Until next time, Kris

Missions Corner Linda Lahr AGAPE Christian Mission, Haiti Update from Linda Lahr, Agape Christian Mission, Haiti Agape wishes to thank all of our supporters and prayer warriors at Central Christian Church. Steve and I were able to attend the Church and School Dedication Celebration on March 21-24. We went to Haiti under a Level 4 Security Alert which is the highest alert the Embassy Issues. This was due to the unrest in February which put the country on lockdown. Travel was impossible and danger was everywhere. The roadblocks were cleared on Feb 20th and protests lessened so I sent a request to the board for permission to travel alone for safety and to represent the mission at the ceremony. My 4 page report on the trip will be out in the next two days and I will deliver some copies to the church for the Sunday School classes and supporters. I will also be emailing it to everyone on my list. As for the current conditions and prayer requests for Haiti, we know that God is in control. It is difficult watching the corrupt government officials accuse each other and the President for the conditions in Haiti. Years of corruption have drained the funds in the country and they are not able to even buy fuel supplies for the country. The ships are offshore but will not deliver their fuel supplies until the 32 million owed is paid. This means no fuel for vehicles. The population is not able to get produce to the markets and public transportation is not operating. It is only a matter of time before the protests start again and the economy of Haiti collapses. The President has gone to the US State Department for help and also to the UN for appeals to the humanitarian relief needed. So far no one has responded. I am so thankful in all of this that our God has allowed us to complete an operational and safe compound with ability to supply water and shelter if needed. Pray for me and for the mission to seek wisdom and strength in the decisions we make as we direct the mission forward for Jesus. Thank you for your prayers and your loving support of those in Haiti. They send their love to you.

Join us for our new sermon series beginning April 28!
