Winter did not want to let go this year, but summer has finally arrived. The weather is beautiful, school is out, and vacations have begun. During the summer months of June and July, we adapt the summer schedule for our Wednesday night programming. We take a break from Wednesday evening meals and just have our regular Prayer Team meeting at 6:10 p.m. and Adult Bible study at 6:30 p.m. The Children’s Department and the Central Student Ministry don’t have any regularly scheduled classes on Wednesdays, but watch for more information on special summer events in both departments. For our summer Bible Study, we will be studying what has been termed by some as “The Hard Sayings of Paul.” Manfred T. Brauch published a book by that same name, which we will use as a guide for our study. He has listed some 48 sayings that fall into this category of “Hard.” You don’t have to purchase the book to enjoy the study as I will be teaching on the sayings each week. We probably won’t get through the whole book over the course of the summer, but hopefully we’ll cover most of the material. Our adult Bible study will be canceled on June 26th, for the “Mid-Summer Cookout” which begins 5:30 p.m. A Church Safety Seminar will follow at 6:30 p.m. featuring a demonstration on how to operate our new AED (automated external defibrillator). The Bible study will also be canceled on July 3rd, in observation of Independence Day.

Tommy Sharrett Custodian

On July 31st, we will kick-off our full Wednesday Night programming once again. Prayer Team meets at 5:10 p.m., dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., and at 6:30 p.m. we will spend some time worshipping and praying during the Church-Wide Prayer Service. We hope to have church-wide participation at this service. What a great opportunity to kick-off the new school year and our fall season with great praise, asking God to move with a strong presence through our church.

Kim Parker Nursery Attendant

I am looking forward to the summer season. I hope that you will be part of what we have on the agenda.

Summer days…

As we enter the month of June, I can’t help but think back to one year ago this month when we were right in the thick of buying and moving into our very first home. While I’m glad that process is behind me, I never would have thought that just one year later, Cooper would be halfway through pregnancy with our first child. In fact, by the time you read this, we will likely know the gender of Baby Mangrum! June is often a busy month for most of us. You’re probably not buying a house or going through a pregnancy, but you may find yourself traveling on vacation or heading to see family from out-of-town at some point. Even though you may be on the road, you can still stay in the loop with all that’s going on with Central this summer!

There are many different ways to stay connected. First of all, you can watch our services LIVE on our website on Sunday mornings. I’ve heard so many stories of people who listen to our live stream in the car while traveling on vacation! Even if you can’t listen live, you can always go back and stream any of our Sunday morning services at any time! You can even participate in offerings as well through our online giving program. Just go to On top of this, be sure you stay involved through the many different social media pages and communications we offer. My personal favorite is our text message updates. Text @CCCUpdates to 81010 to receive church updates and reminders about events, schedule changes, and more. Standard messaging rates do apply. If you’re on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram, be sure to give us a “like” or a “follow” as we often post similar content there, as well. Just search Central Christian Church or @cccbristol! If you have any questions about our livestream, online giving, text message updates, or any social media questions, feel free to contact me at kris@cccbristol.com! We hope you have an excellent summer! Until next time, Kris
