This year just seems to be flying by, it’s already July! Before you know it, August will show up and school will be back in session. I hope all of you are enjoying the summer. I have a much-needed vacation the first week of July. I plan to stay close to home and enjoy some of the things around here like going to the lake on a weekday when it’s not so crowded, visiting the Country Music Museum, and going to Dollywood for the day. Also, I’ll probably go spend a day with the grandkids in Knoxville. I am looking forward to a busy but fun week! Enough about my life for now. Let’s talk about the church. We are planning to do something at the end of July that I don’t think Central has ever done before. I have done it at the North American Christian Convention and at two other churches. We are going to have a Prayer Service. This is going to take place on July 31st. That’s the Wednesday we start back with our Wednesday Evening Meals. The meal will be at 5:30 p.m. and the prayer service will start at 6:30 p.m. We are going to focus on praying for various needs of our world, country, community, and church. We are also going to pray over anyone who wants us to, for specific needs they may have. This is going to be a spirit filled night of worship, prayer, and Scripture. I think this event will touch many lives and launch us into a powerful fall season of ministry. It is my desire that every person who attends Central would attend this service. So, please put this on your calendar and arrange your schedule accordingly. There will be nursery and classes for the younger children that night. The youth will join us in the prayer service. There is an amazing verse of Scripture that basically calls us to prayer as the people of God. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Notice God says “If my people.” He’s talking about us, if we are the people of God. He says we should “humble” ourselves and “pray” and “seek Him” and “turn from sin.” That’s our part. Then He says if we do that He will begin to heal our nation. I believe strongly that a dedicated people in the church in America, can go a long way to change the world and make it a better place. Satan is doing his work to drag people down to the depths of degradation. Let’s do our part to lift them up out of the pit. Join me for this special prayer service on July 31st at 6:30 p.m. following the Wednesday night meal at 5:30 p.m. Love, Grace, & Peace,
Kris' o r n e r

Dear Central, You all have meant so much to me on my faith journey. I want to thank you all for contributing to my trip to Hawaii so that I could help with the Will Graham Celebration. As you know, I love to speak and I believe evangelism is something that I will do in my future. I have looked up to Billy Graham and I truly believe that God can do the same thing with my generation that he did through Billy. As I try and follow in his footsteps, you all have come alongside of me to help me learn how it works. Thank you all so much! Love, Matt Mangrum

Thank you to everyone who supported the student ministry in donating items, purchasing from the yard sale, and helping prepare for and put on the yard sale!! We couldn't have done it without the sacrifice and support of so many in our church family and community!
