Central Baptist College is pleased to announce the sixth annual Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction to be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in the Mabee Student Services Complex. This event will be the kick-off of the new Central Baptist College Friends of the Library Program, and proceeds from the event will benefit Phase I of the Vision 2020: A Miracle in the Making capital fundraising campaign. Vision 2020 is a plan to complete ten major construction projects over the next ten years to accommodate an enrollment of 2,020 students. Phase I consists of three major projects: the newly constructed David T. Watkins Academic Building, the Library construction project, and the construction of a residence hall. According to Rachel Whittingham, Library Director, “The Friends of the Library program is an exciting new chapter for the CBC library! I look forward to this program becoming an integral part of welcoming the community into the new library and all it will have to offer.” As part of the Friends of the Library Kick-Off, all ticket purchases will include a charter membership to the Coffee Club! The silent auction will open at 5:30 p.m., with gourmet

coffee and hors d’oeuvres. The program and dinner will follow at approximately 6:30 p.m. Dinner this year will be prepared by Central Baptist College Dining Services, under the direction of executive chef, Jill McCollum. Featured silent auction items this year are original works of art by local artists Steve Griffith and VNoe (Vivian Noe Griffith). In addition, in keeping with the Friends of the Library theme, publications by local authors will also be featured. Watch the event website for an updated list of silent auction items! Individual tickets are $50 and sponsorships range from $500 to $5,000. In order for sponsors to have their name and/or logo (dependent on sponsorship level) listed on promotional materials, sponsorship forms and payment must be received at Central Baptist College prior to February 28, 2013. CBC Kicks Off Half-Century Club The CBC Alumni Office will host a Half Century Club induction and brunch at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16 during Homecoming festivities to recognize classmates who graduated 50 years ago or prior. The Alumni Office is in the process of contacting classmates who graduated between 1952 and 1962 to come take part in the event. The event will include a brunch and an induction ceremony. These graduates will receive a special memento from the institution. Please call the Alumni Office if you were a graduate during this time so we can be sure and include you in our mailings. 3
