WELCOME I am delighted to welcome you to the fourth season of our concert series, "Passport to Worlds of Music." We are fortunate to live in Southern California, home to many distinguished performing artists. We are delighted to present them in various venues throughout San Diego.

This year we are producing three concerts of international touring musicians: from the Republic of Georgia, the Tuvan region of Russia, and Brazil. Thank you for your support, which means the world to us.

OUR MISSION The Center for World Music is a nonprofit organization that fosters intercultural awareness and understanding through in-depth encounters with the world’s performing arts traditions. We sponsor educational outreach, performances, and cultural programs abroad.

MORE THAN MUSIC AND DANCE The cross-cultural nature of the CWM’s programs provides enriching opportunities to learn more about the world through unique performing arts experiences.

OUR PROGRAMS IN THE COMMUNITY Access for Special Populations Access to the Arts for Seniors is a new CWM program that presents the world’s performing arts on location in affordable housing facilities for seniors with limited access to cultural enrichment.

Odissi Dance School

In collaboration with the Orissa Dance Academy (Odisha, India) the CWM brings visiting artists from India to San Diego for extended teaching residencies facilitated through our Odissi Dance School.

IN THE SCHOOLS The CWM’s World Music in the Schools program facilitates cross-cultural learning opportunities in the performing arts traditions of the world, bringing master artists to teach in K-12 San Diego area schools.

WHY GIVE? Access to the world's performing arts should not be limited to those lucky enough to travel. The Center for World Music endeavors to share the enriching benefits of live world music and dance with everyone.

Your support brings artists representing musical and dance traditions from around the world to children and adults faced with economic or physical limitations.
