"Hey guys, these past few weeks you have blown us all away with how many members have joined Key Club this year! I am so happy that our family has grown to have this many people! Thank all of you for the service you've already given to your community! I can't wait to see what we can all do this year!" -Emiri Handa, Editor
MY FAMILY IS MY LIFE, AND EVERYTHING ELSE COMES SECOND AS FAR AS WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO ME.
First Meeting of the 2018-2019 School Year
“I was incredibly excited to start off the year with so many people. As I looked out today, I was extremely motivated to give these people my all. I can not wait to see their individual personalities and feature them in the newsletter! - Emiri Handa, Editor

"The little hats were cute, I really liked them. It’s cool to think that these tiny things that we’re making will be going to babies in the hospital. Although it was hard to get the hang of it, I know our time was spent well.” - Emma Borbely, Member
On September 5, after our meeting we held a service event in our adviser's classroom. Ms. Willis was kind enough to show us this service activity she learned about over the summer. We learned how to loom baby hats for the children in hospitals who were diagnosed with cancer.

Vice President Elections
On September 5 we had also held our elections for the second Vice President. Hannah Z. and Kamia S. both gave incredible speeches and their efforts were commendable. In the end, Hannah Z. name had been voted for the most. “Key Club, to me, is something where like it’s a group of people that want to help the community and we’re friends. We are people that are coming together to not be judged, just to make friends and have fun as a whole but also to do something good with our time.” -Hannah Zuniga, Vice President 6

Pediatric Trauma Program
September Spotlight Service centers around one of our preferred charities: The Pediatric Trauma Program Pediatric Trauma remains the leading cause of death and injury among children ages 14 and under in the United States. The mission of our Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) is to develop local projects which will reduce the number of children in our three-state District who are killed or injured by trauma, ensuring all children live happy, healthy and safe lives. When you make a contribution to PTP, you‌ provide grants to our partner hospitals, enabling them to create or expand community outreach programs; provide grants to Kiwanis and SLP clubs, enabling them to help more children in more communities; and you provide PTP safety items, which are available for purchase by our Kiwanis family at a subsidized cost.
