SoHo Food Market A Community Space for New York City
A food market for the SoHo community brings people together by integrating a nutritional counseling center, social spaces for rent, and local food vendors offering produce, meats, cheeses and many other niche foods. This building incorporates multiple lounge spaces, both on the interior between the vendor stalls and the exterior. The exterior lounge spaces provide views of bustling Houston Street from above while also allowing users to feel submersed in a natural setting because of green planters on all levels.
View from Second Floor Through Atrium
Guests follow the stairs that surround a large full-building atrium made up of asymmetrical triangles cut through the floor plates. This allows for natural light to penetrate even the bottom-most floor as well as providing a circulation path for guests to journey through the food market.
Section Perspective Looking West
A community garden is part of the nutritional center located on the top floor. Users can attend community gardening classes as part of an overall goal towards a healthy SoHo community.
Prosthetics Research and Training Center Crossroads District, Kansas City, Missouri This state-of-the-art facility is devoted to the innovation of prosthetics through research, development, and training. The building itself works as a “structural prosthetic by questioning how columns can be more than just devices to withstand gravity loads.

Municipal Crematorium Manhattan, Kansas The interplay between darkness and light- seen in the circulation spaces, as well as the voided pieces of the building’s facade- can also be interpreted as a metaphor for the bittersweet emotions that one feels when a loved one passes. The definition of light can be taken literally, or it can be seen as the clarity that breaks through the depths of death and despair.
Two Bars Sliding Past Each Other Their connection point is the main circulation path. This path divides the private crematorium spaces from the public guest spaces.
