change! Change! CHANGE!
This has been a year of changes for the Butlers. Bill was laid off at the end of last year, just in time for the holiday season. He found a new job in record time - just not in the Dallas area... He accepted a job just before Christmas ‘08. In January Bill went to work for the Dell Empire, quite a change from the small companies that he worked for in the past. We moved to Cedar Park, a suburb just north of Austin.
Note: New Address: 113 McBride Cedar Park, TX 78613 Bill started his new job, while Sharon and the girls stayed behind until March to pack the house and tie up a few loose ends. We moved into our new home and Austin welcomed us with a hail storm on the day we moved in! In May we attended our daughter Lindsey’s engagement to her long time boyfriend Zach. In true Aggie fashion Zach’s Corps outfit provided the saber arch that lead up to the Century Tree, where family and friends had gathered (She said yes). Two weeks later we saw Lindsey cross the graduation stage at Texas A&M. (Whoop!!!) She left A&M for Corpus Christi to begin her life as a tax paying adult. (Whoop! Whoop!) She works as a Human Resources and Communication Administrator at Sherwin Alumina Company and is already running the company! Lindsey will be moving to Colorado Springs, Co. after her wedding in May 2010 While many things have been changing some things haven’t. We went on our bi-annual houseboat vacation to Lake Eufaula, where our group of friends attending is growing. This year we had our friends from Dallas with their girls, as well as our Okie friends that we meet a couple years back. We all take over a small piece of beach where we park the houseboats. Activities included jet-skiing, swimming, a luau, jumping off cliffs, and lots of relaxing. The girls are still very involved in softball. Marissa’s Austin team went to the Colorado Sparklers tournament in July where teams from all over the nation compete. There were 141 teams in the tournament; the first team they played was from Anchorage Alaska! Marissa’s team took 2nd in their age division. While Marissa has been busy pitching her way to 2nd place Jessica’s team has brought home several first places trophies at local Texas tournaments. Jessica has been staying busy learning to pitch, along with continuing to catch pop flies at 2nd and outfield. Marissa (7th grade) & Jessica (5th grade) are still homeschooling. We are still adjusting to this “Weird” place and are always excited when people come visit us in Austin, so y’all come – we’ll leave the light on. We are both on Facebook (Sharon Chatelain Butler/Bill Butler) – friend us if you haven’t already.
