Lifetime

Sometimes I miss the meetings.

I still have my gold star stickers they were sweeter than cookies more refreshing than beer— I loved those stickers.

I buy sheets of them at the store they aren’t the same they don’t taste as sweet not without a whole room of polite clapping to back them up

Now, I am alone, just me and this lifetime of diet lore just me and my daily log book just me and my daily log book and early morning encounters with the bathroom scale just me, the log book, the bathroom scale and these poems.
