INTERIOR DESIGN

1

“An interior is the natural projection of the soul.”

Coco Chanel

Progress and Positive Change are my guiding principles of design. I strive to create highly functional, beautiful, and ethereal spaces that activate and enrich a client’s surroundings. As a practice, Interior Design must be socially conscious, in every aspect of that definition. Interiors determine how we as humans relate to our environment. They should serve as engaging and useful spaces of activity, relaxation, community, and healing.

CONCEPT Tetra presents a new paradigm in the Hospitality experience. Designed as an innovative Microhotel, Tetra minimizes private guest space while maximizing social potential. Rejecting the organic nature of its surroundings, Tetra relies on efficiency in spatial organization. The Architecture stems from a simple, mathematic plan, sheathed in an expressive, metal screen. The screen’s articulation is a direct response to the programmatic plan present throughout the floor plates while addressing the climactic needs of high-rise structure in Panama. The Hotel speaks in seductive tones of metal, wood, and stone and exudes an elegant, yet sexy simplicity. HOTEL TETRA

RISIVI FLAGSHIP Partner Project

21

CLIENT Maria Raissa Risivi takes a highly technical and structured approach to creating a concept for a line, envisioning pieces that are precise, yet unpredictable, and seemingly ancient in a modern world of science and technology.

CONCEPT As if uncovering a lost civilization, the MRR flagship store will reveal itself to the client like an excavation of a rock formation’s substrata, using an experientially- based plan. A sense of tense discovery and intrigue will propel customers through the store, which in turn will convey MRR’s precise revisionism and loose technicality through materiality and monumental spatial planning.

CONCEPT Rosea Resort: A Senior Living Experience aims to fashion a unity between the ecological and interior spheres of life through the principles of balance and texture. Based on a radial plan, the use of Sustainable Materials, and the tenants of Green Design, Rosea Resort will foster integration with the local Panamanian Culture while simultaneously promoting Panama-Based Environmental Activism to residents and the surrounding community. Rosea will be an archetype of Luxurious Sustainability, exceeding the typical Senior Living setting and utilizing technology to create a carbon positive enclave. ROSEA RESORT

INFUSE CAFE Partner Project

47

CONCEPT Tasked with designing a cafe within Morrill Hall, one of Iowa State’s landmark buildings, we were challenged to create an intimate, cozy, and comfortable space for faculty, students, staff, and guests of the University. Inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s painting From the Lake No. 1, the cafe provides multi-zoned spaces of confluence, rejuvenation, and activity. With its “Art House” vibe, Infuse Cafe’s refined yet relaxed modernity is attractive to all ages.
