If any label perfectly epitomizes California’s cool, casual nature, it’s Venice Beach’s coastal-chic Sundry, founded by South of France transplant Matthieu Leblan. Its luxe printed tees and sweats sell everywhere from Barneys New York to J.Crew (with which Sundry is collaborating with on a sophomore capsule collection this summer). Things are also amping up with an e-commerce launch, a new creative campaign and an Abbot Kinney pop-up (until August). “Matt spent the last 17 years in Venice, so we feel very strongly about [being here],” says Co-Creative Director Mark Wiesmayr. Expect exclusives in the curated shop: “We made products [to represent being] proud of being on Abbot Kinney,” he says. “It’s always about escaping—getting away from your everyday and feeling comfortable and sophisticated.” 1415 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice, 310-310-3593; sundryclothing.com.

Jewelry designer Becky Hosmer’s 12-year-old line Anna Beck strikes the ideal exotic exchange: dreamed up in West Hollywood, made in Bali. While travels to Southeast Asia originally inspired Hosmer’s handcrafted pieces, she’s a California girl at heart who’s influenced “by L.A.’s creativity and energy—it’s the perfect balance of city and nature,” she says. SoCal’s blue hues and Bali’s spirit are evident in her latest designs, which feature vivid stones: turquoise, representing protection and wisdom, and lapis, to promote inner truth and expanded consciousness. annabeck.com. The designer and a selection of turquoise and lapis necklaces from the summer collection, $215-$325 each.
Dolce & Gabbana’s pre-fall inspiration may have been the Mediterranean, but the bold blue-andwhite Maiolica collection plays just as perfectly on the California shores, too. Traditional Sicilian prints influenced the elaborate pieces, which include several summery sundresses, intricately embroidered tops and patchwork denim, as well as easy-to-wear sandals, silk scarves and boxy handbags ripe for a far-flung getaway. 314 N. Rodeo Dr., B.H., 310-888-8701; dolcegabbana.com. Maiolica print box bag, $9,995, and canvas print espadrilles, $595.
