Country Christmas Tour of Homes Our 25 TH Year With the spirit of Christmas, Right here in Spring Green/ Come join us by the firelight, and witness all to be seen/ The homes are decked out either simply or bold/ But each tells its own story, for you to behold/ Please thank our neighbors for opening their doors/ There will be much for your eyes to peruse and explore/ Enjoy the “Spirit’ Of Christmas, no matter how it is styled/ At the seasons beginning, pause, and remember the “Child”…….

A milestone is set, for our tour of homes will be a celebration of its quarter century mark, this being our 25th year! It has become my habit to address each year with a reference to the season with a theme and this year I have chosen” The spirit of Christmas”, as the above verse describes. There always seems to be a “magical” essence to the Holiday’s, another worldly feeling in the air,

camaraderie amongst our friends and neighbors as we kick off the Country Christmas season here in Spring Green. While it is much a season of children, we must admit, we all have a bit of our childhood instilled in us from our own family traditions that provoke those fond and nostalgic thoughts one remembers with the warmest of hearts. Every year I strive to make a diverse selection of homes that will appeal to many folks, and while that is not always the easy part, those who join us on this day make it easier for me, for they are all “children” of Christmas to whom we must be grateful for making this event memorable, and possible. As an example: This year we are pleased to have the birthplace of our own Centurion, Marie Hunt who turned 100 in June and was born in this very homestead in 1911. This impressive farm has passed its 137th birthday! Many historical discoveries await you on this visit. Please join us and peruse these warm and inviting homes, and pause to discover every effort made by this year’s participants to make your visit special. Each family has gone the extra mile to make you welcome, opening their homes so that you may relish as to what Christmas means to them as individuals. As ever, enjoy the Christmas décor, but take your time and observe the architectural ambience of diversity that each residence has to offer and appreciate the hard work and thoughtful planning that has gone into each home, the time our friends and neighbors have devoted to volunteering their day to bring you an entertaining and delightful seasonal tour. As you walk through these “magical” homes, let us all ponder the real “magic” of Christmas, aside from all the sparkle and festivities; let us remember why we celebrate this special time of year. It is the “Spirit of Christmas”, Christmas is for children, and one child stands out, remember Him! Tickets are available for purchase at Nina’s Department Store, The General Store, and the Flower Shop. The price for the tour only, is $10.00, and will be also obtainable at each residence on the day of our tour, if time does not permit you to purchase them before hand. You may enjoy the tour in any order that suits your

schedule, visiting the homes at random as best fits your day’s activities. Our self guided tour begins at 9:00 a.m. and runs until noon, at which time you are invited to enjoy a wonderful luncheon and fashion show by Nina’s Department Store, under the direction of Judy Marcus, at The Shed Restaurant. Call the Shed directly to reserve your table at: 588-9049, and since this venerable restaurant has

two floors for your convenience, Please mention if you are unable to do stairs so that whatever your needs, they will be accommodated. At 1:30 p.m. the tour resumes and runs until 4:00 p.m. My hope is that everyone can take advantage of this traditional event, and enjoy celebrating with us our 25th year!
