“Falling Back” Into the Routine... It seems like we have all easily fallen back into the daily routine of the new school year. We’re waking up on time (for some of us, maybe not) and replaced cartoon watching on the couch with solving math problems at a desk. The PTO is here to make a change for our school, just like a tree goes from green to golden yellow this time of year. As you’ll read on to find out, we had a number of recent successful and entertaining events sponsored by our PTO. Our goal is to unify our students, their families, and the Park School Campus staff, and help raise funds to enrich our children’s education and overall school experience. This past month was proof that we’re unified! By attending an event or donating your time to assist, you’re helping us get one step closer to reaching our goal. Thank you for your support! Can you help with Market Day? We’re still looking for assistance on October 5th during the Park Campus host month. Please see the Campus Classifieds section of our newsletter for more information about this request. We have some great events planned this month - Movie Night, Book Fair, Staff Appreciation Dinner, Dog ‘n Suds Dinner Night, and the Halloween Dance. In addition, our budding actors and actresses will be presenting “Comic Book Artist” on Oct. 18-19 and our K-4 grades will have their annual Halloween Costume Parade on Oct. 25. Look for more details in the coming weeks! Don’t forget to like us on Facebook and check out our website. Not only can you find a wealth of information on our website, but you can purchase spiritwear items, send a surprise message to your child with a scented pencil, sign-up to volunteer at an event, or make a donation! Don’t forget to send us your comments and suggestions we love hearing from you! Start unpacking the winter gear, and enjoy the fall festivities! The Park School Campus PTO

Dear Parents and Families: Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child. Of all the skills children learn, it is the one you can influence the most. We invite you to visit our Scholastic Book Fair and experience a celebration of reading that provides families the opportunity to get involved in a universal mission: encouraging kids to read every day so they can lead better lives. Our Book Fair theme – Reading Oasis: A Cool Place to Discover Hot Books! – takes students on a journey back to Ancient Egypt to an oasis overflowing with fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. The Fair gives kids access to good books and the opportunity to choose books that will motivate them to read  more.  And  like  most  acquired  skills,  the  more  kids  practice  reading,  the  better  they’ll  get. Reading  is  vital  to  every  child’s  success,  and  raising  kids  as  readers  means  getting  involved  while  they’re   young. Now is the  time.  Since  there  will  never  be  a  substitute  for  a  parent’s  direct  involvement  in  his/her   child’s  education,  please  make  plans  to  visit  our  Book  Fair.   Book Fair Dates:

Friday, October 4th from 6:30-8:30 during Movie Night, Mon., & Tues., Oct. 7th & 8th from 9-4 for classroom visits, Weds., Oct. 9th from 11-7 and Thurs., Oct. 10 from 11-8

If you’re  all  booked  up  during  Book  Fair  week  be  sure  to  visit  the  Book  Fair  online  at   www.scholastic.com/fair. Our Online Fair is available for an extended time from Friday, October 11th to Thursday, October 31st. We look forward to having you participate in our Fair, and remember, all purchases benefit our school. Sincerely,

Matt Melamed Principal
