Worship and Worry ‘...Let him...rely upon his God.’ Isaiah 50:10 NKJ Nobody likes to feel burdened by others, but check this out - God actually wants to be burdened by you. ‘Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.’ (Psalm 55:22 NLT) We need to use one of our biggest assets: worship. Whatever the situation, make the stone-cold rock-hard choice to rejoice and be glad. Choose to worship God, who has given you the ultimate Guide (to life, the universe and everything) that will help you through your day. ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.’ (Philippians 4:6 NIV) Practical tip: Music as a form of worship can really help with squashing worry (BTW: Did you know there’s far more

to worship music than secular music... but let’s discuss that another day...) One of the best ways to get to know another country’s language is to learn songs in that language (think primary school Italian or Mandarin.) It’s the same with learning not to worry. If you fill your head with songs that focus on Godly values, you’ll learn His language of comfort and freedom. Not in a metaphorical way, but in a literal mind-renewing kind of way. It’s worth having a favourite worship song on standby in your brain, for every time you start to feel majorly anxious. Even repeating it silently to yourself in your mind can help to bring calm. - word4u2day.com

Uniforms Needed for Exchange Students

We have had a great response from school families regarding exchange students and will be welcoming 2 Italian students and 4 French students to our high school later this term and in term 3. We are needing to source second-hand school and sports uniforms (‘old’ uniform items are fine) for the girls to either borrow or buy. If you have any such items, could you please drop them off to the front office or ask your child to drop them into Mrs Grange’s office, having firstly named and priced the uniforms so as we know how much to charge and who to give the money to. If you just want to lend the uniform items, then please ensure the clothing is clearly labeled so as we can return it to you when the girls leave.

CIS Rugby League Trials

Well done to Toby Bowditch (Yr 9) who last week was selected into the 35-man squad to attend the training selection camp over the weekend. He has trialled so well at the camp that he has qualified for the CIS 15’s Boys Rugby League team that will compete in Tamworth in the final week of Term 2. Last week it was reported in the newsletter that Jarred Brown (Yr 12) was unlucky to miss out on a place in the 18 Yrs Boys League team, however the school & Jarred has been notified that there was an error on the part of the CIS selectors and in fact, Jarred had qualified for the selection camp over last weekend. He attended that training camp and has been selected into the final CIS team who will be travelling to Darwin in July. Awesome effort Jarred – especially to bounce back after the disappointment. CCAS is very proud of both boys and obviously wish them both heaps of success and enjoyment as they pursue their dreams.

Congratulations!

Jessica-Ellen Standen (Yr 11) has been called into the AICES Open Girls Touch Football team to compete in Penrith next week on Tuesday. Good-luck on the day!
