This program prepares students to counsel clients to increase their levels of performance.

CBU’s SPP program is intended for individuals wanting to help clients improve their physical performance in sport and exercise. Focus is placed on work with athletes and exercisers but also on work with clients in other performance-based arenas. This is an applied program that emphasizes training students to work with a diverse population from a faith-based perspective.

SPORT AND PERFORMANCE PSYCHOLOGY The SPP program is biblically rooted, equipping students to serve their clients as excellent and compassionate consultants. It is also globally minded by teaching students how to serve a diverse range of clients.

Why our program? Our graduates are prepared to qualify for certification as a consultant in sport psychology through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (CC-AASP). The CC-AASP is the highest standard of education and training in sport and performance psychology. Having this certification gives our graduates a distinct advantage. Intensive and Focused Classes and program experiences are intentionally crafted to be comprehensive and hands on. Within three semesters, students will be prepared to be in the field, working with clients to improve their athletic performance and quality of life.

Graduates Will Be prepared to qualify for certification as a consultant in sport psychology through the Association of Applied Sport Psychology (CC-AASP).

Be qualified to serve as a sport and performance consultant, academic athletic advisor, consultant to military and law enforcement agencies, and more.

Be globally minded to meet the needs of a wide range of clients, spanning culture, ethnicity, gender, lifestyle, age and professional orientation.
