The exhibition and its layout were inspired by the cartography of all the islands of the Philippines. A clear graphic signage on the ground symbolizes connections and exchanges between the different territories, guiding the visitor through two sequences: “The Highlands” and “The Maritime Network”. The V-shaped insertion into the new extension added to the small 1930s house literally divides the annexe functions and provides an entrance. In the ground level, the house is as open as possible to interact with the garden and to allow for more light, as do skylights in both the living and dining areas.

The pods themselves are designed and organised to reflect the structure of human cells. This includes also the illuminating holes in the ceilings. The pods can be deployed individually or rearranged depending on their surroundings to reflect the growth and reproduction of the cells.
